Air Fryer

I got a Nuwave Brio & I couldn't agree more. That sucker reheats pizza like a boss! Anything I am warming up that should have a bit of crunch goes in there - chicken wings/tenders reheat so very nicely, not soft like from the microwave. Even fries. And much easier to cook small portions than heating up the oven.

Have tried a regular air frier (with a basket) but just find the Brio (uses grated shelves) is much easier & quicker, and fits a lot more than the little basket model we had.

Oh and if you need a sandwich/panini maker, I highly recommend the little Bella version. It's no frills but you don't need frills, just turn it on & put in sandwich - voila. Does nice little quesadillas too.

And s'mores paninis are lovely - sweet bread, with marshmallows & chocolate inside... oh my goodness the wonderful gooeyness!

I use mine several times a week. It’s much easier to use than the oven and doesn’t heat the house up in the summer.

We use our air fryer every day, totally agree it was a worthwhile investment! We're considering upgrading ours, but I'm having a hard time making the final decision since ours still works.

Chances are, you have one already built into your oven. An air fryer is just a kitchen gadget to replace a convection oven. We do use ours a fair bit, but it is a counter space hog.

I've used my air fryer to reheat pizza. It is no healthier than if I had used an oven.
Already cooked pizza is already cooked pizza, yes. Maybe OP was comparing it to frying foods?

If I am comparing apples to apples using the same ingredients, I think baking or using the air fryer for skinless chicken breasts and roasted veggies is about the same level of "healthy." Personally, I like the air fryer mostly for variety in taste. My personal preference for cooking foods foods is grilled, air fryer, baked, and fried in a skillet, although for roasting veggies I prefer the oven.

Definitely can make fried foods can be made healthier (not necessarily healthy) using an air fryer. I love my air fryer and use it often. Was only joking that you can't put something inherently unhealthy in an air fryer and make is suddenly healthy.

If only we could put food in the air fryer and have it come out "healthy." Cinnamon rolls, anyone?

Exactly. After listening to my adult kids tell me for years that I *needed* an air fryer, I finally put one on my Christmas list last year and my son bought it for me. Yep, it's a glorified mini convection oven. Now I have 3 convection ovens in my kitchen -- my regular oven is a convection oven; my microwave is a convection oven; and now I have the air fryer. I don't fry things to begin with -- everything (including french fries, tater tots, chicken, etc.) gets baked so the air fryer isn't making anything healthier for me. The only time the air fryer gets used is if I only have a small enough portion to cook/heat up that it makes sense not to heat up the full oven. I used to use the microwave to do that, but the air fryer is a little easier to use *plus* then I can still use the microwave to steam vegetables while cooking something else in the air fryer. I've probably used the air fryer about 15 times in the last year. My life would not be ruined if I didn't have an air fryer. And it is definitely a space hog. Mine lives in a cabinet in the dining room when I'm not using it because I can't stand having it hog all that space on the counter while collecting dust.

I don’t have convection in my regular oven, but I have a countertop Breville Smart Oven that has convection. I was tempted to jump on the air fryer bandwagon until I realized I already had that capability. I love my countertop oven! It is just large enough to bake a pizza or a 9x13 cake. The only time my regular oven gets used is for the turkey on Thanksgiving (in fact, I just turned it on a couple of days ago to make sure it was still working for this week).
