air from Halifax

gilsan- our trips will be overlapping! you must get in the 23rd? we leave the 30th.

and i too checked yesterday for ac and it went up qutie a bit i nearly choked at the computer!

Well, AC is really playing with the prices -- the same flight I was watching was increased to $382 pp this am, as were the rest of the flights for Pres. week. Then they dropped the prices down to yesterday's levels this afternoon :confused3

Well, we're hoping for a few things.

First that the Buy 4 Get 3 promo is extended after March and second that either a seat sale hits from YHZ or we are going to fly out of Bangor.

I know it's an inconvenience but it's over $1000 in the difference currently (Mid Aprilish)

Decisions decisions....

Have many folks flown Allegiant? We'd have to rent a car another drag I know...

I haven't flown out of Bangor, but I just returned from Portland (flew PWN to JFK to MCO and back). Flew Jetblue ($250 per person taxes etc in) ... no bag fees and still used Magical express. Did the stay, park and fly out of Embassy Suites.

Keep the YHZ fare info going! Wouldn't mind an early 2010 trip.

We are at such a disadvantage here in Halifax -- maybe it's because we're a days drive from the border? Yes, we need to help each other out because airfare is probably the biggest hurdle to getting to WDW.

Maybe we could also keep a list of airlines that have flights which DON'T connect in Toronto. I almost take it as an insult that they want me to pay extra to go out of my way on the way to Orlando.

Has anyone used Continental airline out of Halifax? :surfweb:

If anyone plans to flying out of Portland, Maine you might want to try AirTran. :thumbsup2

I've used Transat Holidays (Canjet charter) for flights to Disney from YHZ (May 2007, Feb 2009) (although not this year $$$), but haven't tried Continental yet. Just as a note ... Jetblue does not charge 1st bag fees ... I think Airtran might.

We need a special thread to keep track of fares from PWM, BGR YHZ etc to MCO ....

I haven't, but the talk about connecting in Newark :scared1: me.

We have flown United connecting in Washington (IAD) and thought that was a great connection -- the food at the airport was a little $$ but not nearly as bad as Toronto. I'd easily do that connection again, but their prices are very high right now (all over $600 return)

yep we did. wasnt too bad- we were there for 6 am, loaded at 845 and were gone before 9 am. we landed aroudn 1020ish our time in newark. got off, went d/s to the shuttle, got on, took that to terminal c(we landed in a) and then u/s walked ten miles, foudn a bathroom changed the kids, went to get a seat and it was time to board. and that was an hr and a half roughly after we landed.

they werent too bad- and the trek isnt too bad. but when we left we were on a tin can, one single seat on oen side, two the other. they separated us from the kdis. we were together but they were acrosss from us. they refused to change it which made me mad, but i didnt want to get amd and get kicked off! we were 17a 18a, then 18b and 18c. the kids fared well tho, i was worried the entire flight. the ladies at the check in counter u/p in hali were horrible. they said oh we cant do anytign tell the stewardess. her hands were tied- full flight. snack was a banana muffin- ick. we had to pay for ear phones(which i knwo was a convo on here a few months back). but from newark to orlando was great. 3 and 3- so hubby took the kids! lol

the nice thing- when we left since we were travelling with small kids- she didnt charge us bag fees! and on the way home 4 checked was 60 bucks. contintal charges i think 15 for one then 25 for every bag there after.

we did have an incident on teh way home from neark. they gate checked our stroller, and since this old couple behind us woudlnt let us gather our thigns and leave in front of them staff through the plane was empty adn they chucked our stroller on the belt and damaged the handle. however they did give us a 200$ voucher so im inclined to use them again.

and yes airfare is absurd! rite now its 507 for me in april for all of us. this sumemr when i booked for september 30th, we paid roughly 455 for each ticket round trip. im hopign for a january seat sale.

Hi, Thanks for letting me know about the AC seat sale!!! It gave me some hope! I can not buy my plane tickets right now due to xmas, I need to focus on it right now! I hope they are that price or lower in late Jan. for Apr. travel!!!:goodvibes

When did you buy your Canjet tickets for your Feb 2009 trip?

We used airmiles for our Feb. 09 trip, but other people who were traveling at the same time got some great deals about a month in advance. We flew United for our Feb. 08 trip and picked them up for around $400 pp about 5 weeks before the trip.

And yes, you should start that thread.

I did start that thread this morning :)

I bought my Feb 09 tickets in Dec 08 I believe. I did see the same flight for less than $350 with taxes in ... in fact a friend of mine was on the flight and claimed to have paid less than $300 CDN taxes in ... last minute fare.
