Does anyone know if / when you book a WDW resort stay and you decide to book air transportation with WDW too, is it cheaper booking as package or booking flights separately? Or does it even matter since air fare is all over the place now-a-days?

Thanks!

I always book my air seperately. You have no idea what WDW is charging. I'm not a fan of online ressies and book directly with Disney reservations. I have flyer miles with Delta, but sometimes it pays to check the fares. Last Dec I had a 40% pin code off moderates, so checking Delta at that time, they had a fare of $178 round trip for my Oct booking at WDW. I didn't use my miles and paid oop. I feel you should just check around for the fares.

I, too, always book my WDW stays by phone instead of online. However, before calling, I check the fares so that I have a rough idea of flight times/pricing. In my experience, WDW has access to the same flights I can find online; however, like Cassie said, I have no idea what the markup might be (if there is one) on flights purchased through them.

One thing you can do is find a flight you like, then call WDW and ask them to price out your resort/dining/whatever without airfare and with airfare (the same flight you chose). See if there's a difference between what they offer and the price of purchasing your own tickets.

Of course, if you have airline miles or a discount code/offer for a flight, I would totally use that and NOT book through WDW.
