Air Conditioning in the resorts

When we went to Disney in 2004 we stayed at Pop Century, I had read on the boards, then experienced it for myself, the air conditioning wasn't that great. For bed time I bought a fan from home and this helped a lot, of course I'll admit I am kind of hot natured. I was wondering how the air conditioning is at RPR? Is it preset? At night I prefer my air to be set on 65 or at least not more than 68 or else I have a hard time sleeping. So, will I need to bring a fan from home for my stay at RPR or not? I HAVE so many questions and I'm a CHRONIC planner, I can drive people crazy with my planning every detail! But thank heavens for you all... who are always very helpful!

Air conditioning at RPR is very good, you adjust it for your own settings, how cold or if you need a burst of heat, just adjust the control.
Far superior to our stay at disney resort

Thanks so much! I'm so excited to stay at the resort at US, I KNOW I'll like it better than the value hotels in Disney. Hubby and I figured up our vacation in WDW in 2004, four nights in a value hotel buying 2 adult tickets and one child ticket everyday for five days vs four nights in RPR with two tickets included (we got the package deal) and us just having to buy one ticket for our son (which was the one ticket that included seven consecutive days). It will still be around $400 cheaper, so even though the Loew's hotels are more expensive, the price of the tickets more than make up for the cost. AND FOLT with universal---nothing at WDW. Now don't get me wrong, I love WDW, but just saying that staying at Universal is really a better deal than at Disney.

Yes ,we stayed at RPR for 7 days last July then 14 days at POFQ.
Booked to stay at RPR for the whole vacation this year, we enjoyed POFQ and Disney, but preferred Universal to disney, will probably go back to Disney in a few years , but staying on site at Universal is miles better than Disney.

We always stay at the HRH, but I cant imagine the AC is any different at the RPH. DH and I always take a fan in October. The AC has sensors that will shut the air off if there is no movement for a set amount of time, so it can get stuffy during the night.

BTW, be sure to check the discounted rates for RPH. The 2 free park tickets is usually not the best price. RPH is BEAUTIFUL!!

that is right what the other poster stated.

the package isn't the cheapest way to go.

you can figure out what it is by breaking down the tickets, room
if you find it is cheaper buying separately, then modify your ressie.

you pay rack rate when you do a package.

if you haven't invested in AAA, check it out. discounts are very good for AAA members at the hotels.

rph is very nice. i stayed there last year and did not have any issues with the room warming up during the night.

At HRH you cannot put thermostat temperature below 68 and I believe it is somewhat common among hotels in FL.

I can deal with 68, but I'll probably bring a fan just in case. Oh this is terrible, I'm already worrying about being hot in the room and I've already told you guys that I'm hot natured and I'm going to the parks in the middle of August!!!!! This is BAD!!!! Oh well it's the only time I can go, so I'll deal with it---better to go in August than not at all!!!!

I did check into just getting the room vs the package deal, since we are only staying 4 nights the package deal was okay. It was a bit more expensive--but only by $45 total, so it's not worth changing. Now of course if we were staying longer I would have changed it. I also checked into getting AAA, but in my area it was kind of expensive $78, and I'm afraid that with my luck if I get AAA then try to get the resort all the AAA rates will be gone.

if you sign up on line, the $30 enrollment fee is waived.

that could bring your price down to $48 for a year.

the promo ends in june.

You will be fine. Its no better or worse than any disney hotel air conditioner-wise (in general).
