Our family is cruising on the 7 day June 12th Western Caribbean Cruise. When I booked the cruise we were assigned Delta for our carrier. I called yesterday to see if I could add 1 more adult to a previously booked stateroom. After she told me yes, she then told me that there would be no guarantee that she would be on the same plane as us even though we were departing from the same city. I called Delta and they told me that they had many available seats on our plane. So I didn't think it would be a problem. Later on Disney called me and said that there was nothing available on the same Delta plane as my family had originally been booked on. They could either move the 4 of us plus our new extra adult to USA Air or we would have to fly separately. Since I didn't want my mother-in-law to have to fly by herself I agreed for us to all be moved.

Today I wake up and hear the US Air has filed bankruptcy! Now I am wondering if there really was space on Delta but, maybe USAir was cheaper. I am frustrated because our original air schedule with Delta was going to have us arriving in Orlando at 10:30. a.m. Now with USAir we will be arriving at 12:30 p.m. I am afraid that we will not be on the ship early enough to secure Palo and massage reservations. Now I am frustrated and am considering flying down the day before.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!!:upsidedow

US Air has NOT filed for bankruptcy. That is a dumb April Fools joke that has taken a life of it's own. (Even if they had filed it almost never affects daily operations unless the company goes into liquidation. This is rare and takes a long time).

I can't help you with the timing of the flights. But remember, they told you the flight times and you agreed to rebook your original flight. I realize you didn't want one person flying alone, but you knew the flight times. Don't be angry with Disney for that. Plus, usually if there is a delay that causes you to miss your cruise departure, the cruise line will make arrangements to get you on the ship, etc. At least, they do this when you book airfares through them.

Relax!! Your flight only arrives 2 hours later than your original time.

I am not angry at Disney. Just simply curious. I heard the information about USAir on the news this morning. I don't beleive they are in the habit of running April fool's day jokes on air!!!

Thanks for your reply:tongue:

Well, I don't know about your Radio stations, but mine will MOST certainly run April Fools' jokes. The other thing is that rumors like this take on a life of thier own.

However, the earlier poster is right it won't effect anything on your travel.

That said, I have a feeling that what happened is Disney negioted a better rate on USAir then on Delta for whatever reason. The number of seats Delta had really does not indicate how many cheap seats they are willing to sell to the cruise lines.

Have a great cruise

Misty9960,

I just reread my post. I realize the part about the times of the flight and being angry with Disney sounded a little rude. I apologize. I really didn't intend to sound mean or obnoxious.
