Hi everyone,my name is Michele and this is my 1st PTR. Let me start by introducing my family.
Me -I work in a High School cafeteria a few hours a day and the rest of the time I have the most important job being a mom
Louie-My hubby he works long hours so i can have the most important job
Kristyn (14) she starts High School in a few weeks and she is the best big sis always helping out
Julianna (4) she loves the princess and is starting pre-k in a few weeks
Aiden (4) my wish baby Aiden is outgoing and so loveable and strong he also starts pre-k
I'm so excited to be doing this. I'm always a lurker to PTR and TP I love reading them. So a little history about my wish child Aiden is obviously a twin and he was born with a skull defect called Craniosynostosis. Craniosynostosis is a condition in which the sutures close too early, causing problems with normal brain and skull growth. Premature closure of the sutures may also cause the pressure inside of the head to increase and the skull or facial bones to change from a normal, symmetrical appearance. When Aiden was born his dr was concerned about the shape of his head. His forehead was pointy and from the birds eye view it was triangular. Dr did x-ray said was normal said probably cause of the multiple pregnancy and should even out on its own. We had to go to dr a few days later for a weight check and Aidens head was still the same shape. Dr told us we could go to Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia to get a 2nd opinion from a nuero-surgeon. That is when my life fell apart and i thought I was going to die. Dr confirmed the Craniosynostsis. We met with a Plastic Surgeon the same day and he explained the procedure and it was scary. Well 7 months pasted and the day in 2008 came I had to hand my 7 month old over to an OR nurse for a very invasive long surgery. Aiden did great the stress was lifted off our shoulders for a while. In 2011 we noticed a bump on Aidens head which led to Surgery #2 and #3 and #4 all done with in 6 months of each other.I was heart broken again but Aiden was so strong always made me smile.
We heard about this foudation Dreams Come True by our pre-k advisor and she referred us. We got an email for our Dreams Come True contact and tolds us Aiden was approved. I was so happy he was so happy. Can you guess where he wants to go? You got it WDW. He deserves this so much he is such a fighter has more strength that I will ever have. Next week we will hear from out contact and start making arrangements. We hope to stay at GKTW. He really wants to go next month for his birthday I hope I can make that happen for him.
Thanks for reading stay tuned for or arrangements.
I'm going to try and post some pics but I'm not sure if I know how maybe my kid can help lol
