Mac, Congratulations!!! I am so sorry that Aiden had bowel necrosis from a rupture and emergency surgery. He is adorable and if at all like his big sister Mya, then he is a FIGHTER!!! He and your entire family will be in my prayers. I pray for baby Aiden, for you and your wife, for Mya, for the doctors, nurses, aides, and therapists who will care for Aiden in the days and weeks to come.

My triplets were each in the NICU for over 12 weeks and all had emergency surgery and were very critical. We didn't know if they would make it or not, so I totally understand how you are feeling. Please know that I will add you to our prayer list at church and will keep you in my constant prayers. I worked in the NICU (I'm a RN), so if you have any questions or just need to vent to a mom who has been there, please PM me.

Ok, I was going to congratulate you, but then I read the sad news.

But I want to share a glimmer of hope.

When I was two days old, I had to have risky intestinal surgery, as well.
But that was right on the edge of 1970. There's over 35 years' worth of
advances since then, and I came out with normal functions. And I weighed
about 3 lbs. when they performed this miracle on me.

I'm pulling for this kid, as my family pulled for me.

Hey Mac.. first Congrats ...Aiden is just a beautiful and precious baby boy !! He is so adorable!

Now let me say thay we all know that there is strength in prayers so I have already starting praying for precious Aiden and for you and your whole family! I do want to say that our first grandson was born with medical problems and thanks to all the prayers we got he is a healthy and precious 3 year old today!

Oh my. That is one cute little boy! I'm so sorry to hear about the complications. My family and I are keeping you and yours in our hearts and prayers. I work at our children's hospital as a child life specialist so I see things like this more often than I would like to. I have full confidence that your beautiful son will make a full recovery. My little boy spent three weeks in the NICU and my fiancee and I never left his side. I know how stressful it can be. Hang in there. It sounds like you have an AMAZING little girl and she and her little brother now have an extra special spot in our prayers. God bless.

Well things went quite south this morning. At 3:00am I got a call from my wife that I needed to get back to the hospital as Aidan was not doing well. He was found to have air in his abdeman via some rupture. The transported him to the local children's hospital were they preformed emergency surgery. At that time it was found that 2/3rds of his bowels had died due to an unforseen blood clot that blocked the main line to those organs.

The next 24-48 hours are going to be really tough and if he can get blood to what is left he should have a normal and healthy life, however he will be in NICU for quite some time.

Mya was able to get in and see him today and what a GREAT big sister she was. Please keep us the doctors and this little preciouse child in your prayers, no matter what God you pray too.
