Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Our first Disney vacation we had our bags so jammed full that we had to purchase 2 more bags to get our stuff home. This time we bought cool duffel bags at Wal-mart. They are closed up nice and small then you unzip it and it is a normal duffel bag. You can get like a 24" bag for about $5 - $8. We will be able to easily pack the empty bags then lug them home full!

I love all the tips. Eagerly waiting our papers. We live near Albany,NY and in a small town. May take a while. Booked the cruise myself through DVC. Any other DVC members get their papers yet?

Another question: If we are coming into Orlando the day before the cruise, should we wait to put our luggage tags on? We want our luggage coming with us. Someone told me they will take it and ship it to the port if the tags are on it? Sorry if this info is in the paperwork. I'm so impatient!

I'm a DVC member but didn't book through them. I'm going to attend the DVC presentation...hopefully win that OBC!

Don't put your tags on ahead of time! They will send them to the port. Wait until you get ready to go to the port.

we are DVC also. but paid cash as the point to cash ratio was not worth it in our opinion. But either way I have heard that DCL will know that we are DVC members, but you should check in at the DVC desk in the port just to make sure. And there is suppose to be a gift in your room along with a door magnet. We plan on attending the presentation also, to hopefully win something also.

Wonder if the brown truck left something at my door at home

Our docs just arrived pixiedust: ! Time to do the docs dance

Does anyone know if there are hidden mickeys on the ship? My kids are obsessed with these. I tried to find a book at the bookstore when I bought my cruise book, but there wasn't one. Maybe there just aren't enough.:scratchin
...
Very excited about shuttle launch. One more thing to make this cruise so extra special. Will they keep us posted onboard. Not sure I'll bring computer or not.:boat:

This site has the hidden mickey hunt that GS used to give out, do they still do this? www.disney cruiser.info/hmick.htm

Then there is always the Hidden Mickey site, http://www.hiddenmickeys.org/cruise/

On the Launch, in 12/06 they did keep us informed, the launch then happened on the first evening.

Kelly,

We booked via DVC, and our Docs tried to arrive on Monday, but I picked them up today at the Fed-ex office. Being in Canada, our docs tend to be in the first or second set sent out.

Well things are back to normal almost in SC. We ended up with 4 inches of snow which is almost unheard of for us. DS (4) cried this afternoon when we got out of school and he realized that most of the snow had melted. I am in the process of packing - its a bit easier now since we don't need any of the clothes that we will be packing. Here's my pic for the day, enjoy!

Got our docs today.

I quickly looked threw them. Besides the luggage tags, its basically just the info you fill out in the online check in correct? Or did I miss something?

My Docs only had our luggage tags, the onboard airline check-in (we are heading to WDW afterwards via DME transfer) and our transfer coupons. We did our contract, check-in forms and payment authorization on-line.

The docs envelope didn't feel as offical this time. I guess they are saving paper...

No, you didn't miss anything. Essentially all of the check in is now done on line. If you didn't do it on line, printed docs are available at the port. What you need in paper is the last (signature) page of the cruise contract. If applicable, you'll need the medical form (done in advance and faxed hopefully) and the notarized minor consent form.

Great day. Got my docs came late last night:cool1: and now I can post pics. this is our Mickey countdown (below). I know he is a little worn. He is very old and have often thought of replacing him, but he's been around for so long, I just couldn't do it.

Thanks for all the doc info and the hidden mickey info. We are very excited!! Printed it all out and its going in our luggage. WE ARE PACKED and ready to go!!

LJM: Does everyone get that welcome tray once onboard or did you order that. Its looks delicious!!!

pic didn't work. Yeah, tried again and it worked. Sorry, its my first time.
