Well, weather update - school has already been canceled for Tuesday (yes they do that down here)- the kids are too excited for words. SC is in no way prepared for winter weather and everything will shut down almost. We have no sand/salt trucks or snow plows - lots of rednecks in 4x4's though! If we get the snow they think we will, we will also have a delayed start to school in Wednesday because the buses won't crank that early if its that cold! I know this situation sounds surreal to most of you, but it is really happening. What is most exciting for me is that kids that have never seen snow in their lives will finally get to see it! The only one not looking forward to the snow is DH - he works for the Highway Patrol and although no scheduled to work again until Wednesday night, has been put on standby! I look for the phone to ring early in the AM for him.

PJ - thanks so much for our name tags. I really love them. I realized these are the first ones I have that say Donna and Ken and not Grandma and Grandpa. Sometimes I forget we have other names. I sympathize with 2grbrits in SC. We are in Alabama and even a few snowflakes bring out the crazies. It is really cold here and we are expecting snow showers in the morning but nothing that will make an impact. Awww the warm sun will feel soooo good.

Well, I woke up to a light dusting of snow and I must say that it is beautiful! I'm sitting here in my chair and the boys are still asleep and it's all I can do not to wake them up! The news is reporting that it will do this all day, so there is time for them to see. EVERY school, daycare, etc. is closed and DH is still sleeping, but I don't look for the Highway Patrol to let him do that for long. The sightseers will be out soon and with that will come the wrecks. The temp will not get above freezing today so tonight will be a mess - probably will get a 2 hr delay in the AM Those are the best! Get to sleep late and don't have to make up the school day!!

I know you said the snow was probably not good for packing but try to scoop some up and keep it in the fridge. Nice little treat to play with when its all gone. It doesn't always freeze right, but we have had luck with it on an occasion or two.

Thanks for the info on the magnet paper. Went to get it yesterday but they were all out. Didn't realize it was so much $$. Great idea to laminate pictures! Bringing magnets from home and bought some window clings from the christmas tree shop. Don't know if they will work but we will give it a shot. They were $1. I guess we will just try to decorate with what we have.

PJ, not sure yet what we will do with name tags but WOULD LOVE THEM! The kids can put them on their journals or maybe I can make a christmas ornament some now. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Thought I would share some info with those staying at the radisson the night before.

Previously I was booked with the cruise parking package and my room rate for sat 139.00.

Today I was looking at the radisoon website and it dropped to 119.00. So I saved $20. Just a heads up for those staying at the radisson.

Wow this is really great! The kids are excited beyond belief! DS(4) got up this morning and said "Is that real snow?" LOL! Here's a picture of the boys all bundled up SC style! There are more on my facebook and I'll be glad to "friend" any/all of you I'm listed as Krista Abbott Byrd. Well, that's all for now - off to make snow cream YIPPIE!
