I can't get anything to post and I have typed all of my questions out twice and now I am REALLY going to cry!!

Cliff note version:

Should we
A) do a split stay 2 nights value 2 nights GF so we can afford to experience the GF (over thanksgiving time). Is 2 nights enought to 'relax'-having no park time- and enjoy GF?
B) Do all 4 nights at a mod and not split. We have 2 kids and will have already been at the parks for 7 days staying offsite and want to RELAX afterwards and can't afford the cruise we were going to go on!

Sad and frustrated

yes?

no, but really...do the split, its worth it. we do splits almost every trip now, its fun to experience two sides of the park. do pop and do the parks in that are (Epcot and MGM are close) and then while you're at GF you can enjoy all the MK you want.

have fun!

Thanks. We will have already 'done' the parks and I had all of that typed quite eloquently TWICE, but it wouldn't post.

We will be quite ready to just sit back and relax. Maybe tour some other resorts, do DTD, go to the Boardwalk. The commando theme park touring will be over. If we were to do the 2 days at the GF we probably wouldn't even leave the resort until it was time to go home.
Thanks for the input. Glad I accidently called on you with my thread title! :goodvibes

Well, instead of 2 and 2, why not do 3 nights at a deluxe? Personally, my favorite resort to just stay and and relax is the Boardwalk.

Our last trip we stayed at the Boardwalk Villas and the Contemporary and going to a park didnt even cross our mind. Thing is, at the boardwalk we had plenty to do, morning, day and night...same goes with Contemporary...because of their proxmity to other resorts and things to do.

If you're already done with the parks, Id look into doing the GF for 3 nights, or if anythng check out YC/BC...you have the Boardwalk just a few steps away and you have access to SAB. :)

either way, youre gonna have a lot of fun!

Yeah, I tried that but GF is not avail for 4 nights or 3 nights, either.

Thanks for all the info. I know we will have fun, I just really wish I had it figured out. Esp since it is Thanksgiving and I know it will be busy.

If the GF is where you really want to stay then split your stay. You will be kickng yourself otherswise ;)

First of all, :grouphug: . I know where you're coming from. We just decided to change around some of our reservations to use points instead of cash and I thought I was going to tear my hair out with the decisions...I wanted to post and get everyone else's opinions and I think I called my DH 10 times a day.

And I'm still not sure we're completely done....

Anyway, I agree that you should split. Especially if you're staying in one place for 7 days before. I'm not sure of the prices, but how glued are you to the GF? If it's your dream, do it!!! If you just want the deluxe experience, I agree with the idea to try and make 3 days at one that is a lower cost option with tons of things to do. BC is a great option because of the pool. WL, Poly, and CR all have the marinas, pools, activities, and cost less than GF (although WL would be the most difference, I believe). AKL is wonderful for the animals, activities, nice pool, etc.

Again, if you really, really want the GF though - do it! If you're not looking to do the parks and just to relax, the deluxe will give you more of a resort stay and activities/things to do than a moderate.

And even though deciding on things relating to a WDW trip is one of those "geez, I wish I had your problem!!", that doesn't make it any less frustrating, does it??

Go with what feels right to you...!

Thanks! And thanks for the hugs, I need 'em! We are leaning toward the split. We may actually scratch the rental car since our offsite hotel has lots of bus times (I checked) and just take a towncar to our offsite and then take the ME back to the airport. Anyone know if you can use ME as a 'one way' thing?

As stressed out about this as I am, I know that no matter WHAT we do, we will be at WDW and it will be awesome!

I would choose the split stay as long as you don't mind the packing/moving part of it. It will be so convenient for you to tour the monorail resorts and watch the fireworks every night right from your hotel at GF which will make a magical end to your vacation even without the parks. You'll also be close by to alot of great restaurants for your last night farewell dinner. You can use your time at the value resort for relaxing and going to boardwalk/DTD for last minute shopping.
