Please no flames about healthy eating. I'm well aware that a mayonaise sandwich (yeah, mayo only. No meat or cheese) is not a healthy meal by any stretch of the imagination. But it is my 5 year olds meal of choice right now :confused3, and I'm willing to feed him one or two during the week if it saves us a lunchtime meltdown while at WDW. So does anyone know where we could get one at the world? We are on the meal plan.

The easiest would be to buy a loaf of bread at the store at your resort & I'm sure i'll get flammed but just pick up packets of mayo at a CS or bring a tiny jar with you from home (I'm not sure if they sell mayo jars at the resorts). I know for breakfast you can buy slices of bread/toast, but that would probably be a waste of a CS credit.

My guess is you will probably have to make your own. I'm pretty sure you can buy a couple of pieces of bread at any food court and there are plenty of mayo packets inthe comdiment area. Not sure how successful you will be at CS locations in the parks just because most of them don't seem to have just plain bread. If your kid could eat it on a bun then you will be fine. You may have better luck at TS locations in the parks, I think they are more likely to have regular sandwich bread.

Hopefully your child will grow out of the mayo sandwiches. I did.

My oldest, who is now 22, used to eat hamburgers with no burgers:rotfl2:

I would think that you could get a "mayonnaise sandwich" anywhere mayonnaise is a condiment. Getting plain bread might be more of a problem, but I would think buns & bread would be at most of the counter service places. So, I'd get the plainest sandwich I could and take off the meat/cheese & eat that myself! Add the mayo packets to the bread and you are good to go!

That's what I would do! Being a mother means being resourceful:love:

Mayo sandwiches are practically healthy next to my childhood fave; butter and sugar sammies. Yum!

Maybe for variety try a Tarter Sandwich from CHH. ;)

I think a bun & mayo is going to be your best bet. Will he eat a hamburger bun or does it have to actually be bread slices?

What? Mayo sandwiches aren't healthy? Just think of it as egg salad mixed really well:rotfl:

Kids are awesome!!!!!!

ps-My 5 yo is into pizza with the cheese peeled off and the pepperoni put back on!:goodvibes

As a kid my younger brother did that same thing with his pizza lol. Worked out for me since I loved the cheese, double cheese for me lol :thumbsup2

DD4 and I are both vegetarians, so we order burgers or whatever kind of sandwich with the meat on the side a lot at, including WDW. Then you can just get mayo on the bun and still use up the credit from DDP, so he can have the side, dessert, and drink too.

My DD eats weird things too, but she had weight issues and we were encouraged to push fatty food and let her eat anything, so she still eats a little differently. She will eat butter by the spoonful if we let her, so sometimes when out to breakfast we may let her eat a butter packet or two. Not to mention, you are on a completely different schedule when at WDW, so if your child is eating, I wouldnt worry too much about it. Now, if that was all he was eating Ide bring along some Kid Essentials or Pediasure too. GL and have fun!

My DS used to order a burger Happy meal, with salad, no burger. Naturally, he had to order for himself. The person at the register always looked to me for translation. This meant he wanted lettuce & tomato on a bun. The bun was discarded. Basically, what he wanted was a salad, but still wanted his toy. The lettuce & tomato were close to a salad. Kids are definitely funny, with the things they come up with.

OP, I would think most of the TS places that serve breakfast would have bread on hand to make a mayo sandwich. The resort food courts should have sliced bread also. As others have mentioned, you may have to provide your own bread for some of the CS or settle for a bun. Providing your own would definitely be the cheapest way to go. You could pic up some mayo packets before leaving home, & bring them with you.

I wouldn't worry about the unhealthy aspect of the mayo sandwiches. Your child will outgrow it soon enough.

You reminded me of something from my childhood. While I was young, they had just come out with "Marshmallow Fluff" in a jar. It was real popular to make a sandwich called a "Fluffernutter" with the fluff and peanut butter. I could eat those one after another. Now, the very idea makes me shudder!

Anyway, marshmallow fluff must have been as bad as your mayo, only with added high sugar calories. See if you could find any reduced fat mayo packets.

WDW does not have mayonnaise sandwiches on any of its menus to my knowledge. The only way to get one is to ask the restaurant to make one, and the response you get to asking may vary. If they're a must-have for your child, you may end up bringing your own, although if you're in a resort with no refrigerator I'm not sure I'd recommend keeping mayonnaise in the room. How long do the packets keep without refrigeration? I'm also not sure how picky your child is about the bread, and the restaurant may not have the bread he prefers. If you're reluctant to use your child's dining credits for just a mayonnaise sandwich you could pay for one and use his credits elsewhere.

Add sat & pepper and I would eat it! lol

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I'm almost 29 and I'm still into this

This is my kid, pizza no cheese but he will eat a ham and cheese choke sandwich (no condiments). I figure as long as he's eating I am happy. :)

What happens if they do away with mayonnaise there, much like pickles in the other thread?
