Agree to Disagree! DISUnplugged Show March 22!

As Scott pointed out earlier, I don't think Disney cares what you tell your friends.
I'd say word of mouth is actually very very ineffective with the Disney parks.
People come in droves, and it's probably not because of word of mouth, but advertising and the ingrained mentality of "LETS GO TO DISNEY WORLD!!"

Debunking Word of mouth:
Ever heard nightmares about Range Rover and there terrible repair issues. They're legendary...I had been told a number of times about this and yet I wanted one so bad. So I finally broke down and bought one. About a year later and $10,000 in repair bills I traded it in for an American made car. Lesson learned. I heard the warnings; I, like all of those families that hear the Disney warnings was unconvinced.

People will do what people do.

Consumers speak with their wallets.

When Disney feels a financial hit, they will change yet again.

I'm repeating myself...so I'm going to bow out of this conversation.

You are repeating yourself and I said I agree with your statement. But what you haven't elaborated on is how you feel these changes are effecting the parks. You've simply said "eh if people don't find value in then don't go". My question to you is do you feel the parks are better now then they were 5 years ago? 10 years ago? 15 years ago? You have this first hand knowledge and are lucky to have experienced it day in day out for so many years I value your detailed input. Not this generic not detailed response you keep repeating.

It's funny, I have heard the Range Rover horror stories all of my life. I adore the styling of the RR sport, but I just couldn't shake all of the reliability warnings from various sources. I was really hoping your story would have a happy ending for the vehicle and I could disregard those warnings, but it sounds like it's been best that I've resisted.

SIDE NOTE: I just accidentally printed an entire page of this thread to the office printer out in the common area. I didn't realize I had done it until someone yelled out "WHICH ONE OF YOU IS KING LLAMA AND DO PEOPLE REALLY ARGUE ABOUT DISNEY WORLD ON THE INTERNET?!"

That was a dose of reality.

Okay, as you were.....

To which the answer would be:

YES WE DO, WANNA MAKE SOMETHING OF IT?????:crutches:

My suggestion. Lease it for the term of the warranty. I love them. We laughed eventually...we called it Christine.

Well in that case, your response to my January response has nothing to do with my January response either.
I wasn't talking about crowd levels.
I was talking about the money you throw down for a ticket.
The simple fact is, you paid (not anymore obviously, hooray for tiered pricing!!) the same $ for a day ticket in January as you did in July, but got less park hours.

The point you're not understanding is that when there were "slow times" (January being one of them) you could get more rides and attractions done in less time than you could get done in busy times. That's why all three of my trips were in "slow times" (January/February; September; early May).
I'd never go to WDW during the busy times. But that was the past. It's evident that there are no more "slow times". There's always a crowd. To me it's not worth the money to only get on 5 rides. I see those types of crowds at my local amusement park and stopped going on the weekends (not that it's any better crowd-wise during the week). In the past I could get almost everything done at the MK in one day in Jan./Feb., Sept., and early May even with the shorter park hours. I would not have been able to get almost everything done at the MK in one day if I had gone in July even with much longer park hours.

I think you'll find that CM pay is actually going up, not down. Aren't they increasing to $10 per hour or something?

I know you're pretty active on the Disney news so you probably have seen this:

Whoa, whoa, whoa ..... people argue on the internet?!?!?!?!

next thing you are going to tell me is there is at least one thing factually inaccurate presented as fact on the internet ... I mean, yeah right!

I know. CRAZY right?

Sorry, I wrote the "FP areas", as in, the wishes area.
Those weren't around back in '05 were they? I plead ignorance on this one, I haven't been a Disney parks fan that long but I went in 2014 just after MB and FP+ were introduced and I thought the parade and fireworks areas were new FP additions?

Also, speculating is one thing, stressing and complaining is another
O.k. I did a bit of research on when fast pass started. The reason I did this was because I have not been back to the parks since 2000 when I worked there and remembered fast pass being available at that time. There have been many changes to fast pass over the years but it started in 1999. I remember the fast pass lane was always quicker then the stand by lines.

I wanted to add proof. This is taken from an article on Huffington Post. FastPass+:Everything you need to know about Walt Disney World's New System.

The old FASTPASS system, introduced in 1999 to lessen wait times at popular attractions, was relatively straightforward. With no advance reservation system, determined park-goers would race to FASTPASS ticket machines as soon as the parks opened to secure a spot on their favorite rides.

In the past I could get almost everything done at the MK in one day in Jan./Feb., Sept., and early May even with the shorter park hours. I would not have been able to get almost everything done at the MK in one day if I had gone in July even with much longer park hours.

I disagree with this. Due to my work schedule, I only visit the parks during peak season. By utilizing EMH and FP+, it is possible to get everything done within a day although I'm not sure why anyone would want to. Spreading it out is much more enjoyable for me.
