I have been reading many threads from the past and there are different age groupings given. Some say 13-15 and 16/17 and some have stated 13/14 and 15-17. I can't find this info. anywhere on the Disney Cruise site. Does anyone really know? TIA

I'm not really sure where this info got started but I just checked with DS14 and he told me that there is no separation by ages. Everyone is together. When they make teams, it's by the month you were born i.e. Jan.-June is one team, July-Dec. another. If they are off-balance, they then even them up but he said there wasn't anything by age. I even checked the Stack Personal Navigator and there was absolutely no mention in it of two groups. Anyone can do or not do whatever is being offered. That's from someone who spent a LOT of time up in the Stack in May.

I believe it was recently changed to groupings by age. That way the "younger" teens are not hanging with the older ones. I think it is 13-15 and 16-17/18....

I believe the rumor mill started this as a possible change on the Magic during drydock, but it may have been around even before that.

I actually had to call DCL the other day with a few other questions so asked directly. She hadn't heard anything about it and even asked someone she works with who knows a lot of the internal stuff and she said she wasn't aware of any plans to change it either.

My concern is that I am travelling with a large family group and don't want them to separate the teens by age as that would cause one person to be alone in the "younger teens" club while the older teens are together in the "other" club. The DCL rep suggested I call back again in about a month to see if they have added any other drydock plans, or to wait until after drydock to find out since I am not going until January.

Either way, as of right now they do not separate the teens by age. :)

DD has done The Stack twice. THere is separation between the groups, but there is a LOT of together time. THe separation only applies to some of the scheduled activities (and they are relatively few.)

In fairness, our cruises were during the school year, so there were relatively few teens on board. If there were more, the separate groups might function more separately.

There are rumors of changes to the teen program after dry dock, including one involving a separate 12-14 venue. These are just rumor, and I guess we'll all wait and see. For now, at least on our last cruise, it was 13-14 and 15-17.

There are only about 6-7 hours of the entire cruise (7) that there are separate groups (13-14, and 15-17).

Some days, there are no divisions at all. I think there were 3 days on the 7 night we were on.

From my ds's teen navigator:

Day 1 & 2-There were no divisions.

Day 3-There was 1 division 13-14 did a hidden mickey challenge while the 15-17 did an activity called "go fetch". This was 1 hour.

Day 4 2 divisions-13-14 play glow jam (basketball in the dark) while the 15-17 played bingo. This was at 9:30-10:30pm.

Also, 13-14 invaded the Lab while the 15-17 did an activity in the stack from 12:30am-2:00am. Yes, this is AM!!!!

Day 5-13-14 played bingo 9-10 pm 15-17 nothing special

Day 6 13-14 did a PS2 tournament while the 15-17 did 2 on 2 hoops 10:30-11:30pm

Also, 13-14 did 2 on 2 hoops while 15-17 Did a mix and match activity 11:30pm 12:30pm

Day 7-no divisions
Hope this helps!!!
