Whats the age gap between you and your boyfriend/girlfriend if you have one, if not, what would be the oldest/youngest age you would ever date someone at?

I can't remember if there was a thread on this a while ago, but what are your thoughts on going out with people older/younger than you?

I needed to get someone else's view on this so, discuss :)

I would probably only date someone 2 years older then me, and a couple monthes younger.

I think it depends. My friends friends/relatives dated someone whos age gap was 5 years age difference..which I think is kind of gross. But I think the sophomore/senior dating and freshman/sophomore is alright...but I think it depends on your maturity.

My boyfriend is one year older than me.
I wouldn't really want to date someone thats more than one year younger than me, or three years older than me.

I've never dated anyone but I'd be cool with 3 years older...and not much younger...
The guy i like is 2 years older (same grade though) and i see no problem with that...most parents I know are 4 and 5 years different

i'm seventeen.

while i'd date a couple years older than me, i probably wouldn't date too much younger. i've just never really been interested in younger guys. i think the farthest difference in either direction was two years, but he was older than me. i've dated a couple guys who were a few months younger than me, but thats about it.

i think the oldest guy i've been honestly interested in was 18? and that was about a year ago, so i was sixteen and he was eighteen.

the guy i'm interested in right now is seventeen, and eight months older than me, so he'll be eighteen when i'm still seventeen. and thats not a problem in my eyes.

i was fifteen i had a seventeen year old boyfriend.

Probably like 2 years younger than me would be the youngest I would go.

And really like maybe a year older than me would be the oldest.

I am a little more than two years younger than my BF.

I don't know, in school probably 2. But after school, probably around 3 to 4 years older is the oldest.

As for younger, a lot of my female relatives are older than their husbands. The youngest I'd probably go for is a year or two, but that's it.

1 year.

Im not going out, but thats like.the perfect age for me.

I dont fit in with my own age.
A year usually does well with me.

i'm only 6 months younger than my bf so obviously that's pretty much nothing

i would probably date someone 2 or 3 years older but probably only like a year younger
but last year i wouldn't have dated a junior and this year *if i didn't have a bf* i probably wouldn't date a senior

but after high school age won't matter so much i think

I would probably go around a year younger than me at the moment. Someone who is two years younger than me would be 15, and my brothers age. If they are anything how my brother thinks, I don't think I would even do that haha. It depends on the guy.

I would probably go up to 20 at the oldest at the moment. I am 17, so that is only three years. My ex was two years older than me. When I am 18, in college, that will probably change, but it again really depends on the guy.

Well..I'm 16 and my boyfriend is 19...

I love it that he's older than me.

I'll be 17 in February :P

For now 3 years older and a couple of months younger.
My parents have 7 years between them. Just throwing that out there xD

I've always dated guys that were my age, either older or younger by only a couple months. I don't know why, it just happened that way.

I have no problem dating a guy who younger or older than I am, but not by much. Maybe 2 years either way. Once you get a bigger age difference than that, I think values and goals change a lot, which is affect a relationship.

When I was dating my ex I was 18 and he was 23. It didn't bother me all that much but I definitely wouldn't go higher. When I was 17 I dated a 16 year old. That wasn't too bad but idk, younger isn't for me.

I think it depends on the age of the person. Like, in high school, I think its gross for a person to date someone 5 years older than they are. BUt once you're in college or older, I think that's fine. But since I'm in high school, I would never date a guy more than 3 years older than me. And I will NEVER date a guy less than 2 months younger than me. Ever.

I also think that it depends on the maturity of the two people. If a girl is mature enough to date a guy 4 years older than her, and the guy isn't just wanting sex, then I think its fine too.

Although I get along with the college-aged crowd better than I do with my age. So its kind of hard since I like all the college guys and they like me (at least before they find out that Im in high school). Most people that I know that are my age are just immature, and I wouldn't want to date an immature guy.

i would say 1-2 years.
my old bf was younger then me by a couple months.

Well I've dated someone who was 2 almost 3 years older than me, and I've never dated someone younger than me, but as long as they're not like wayyy younger than you I think it's fine. Also I find it pretty rediculous if a girl dates a guy 3+ years older than her, it's wrong.

I don't see the big deal.

If two people love each other, why should age come in their way? That being said, I do think that dating someone 15+ years older/younger than you is gross, but anything younger than that is fine.

I love my boyfriend. He is 31. I am 18, almost 19. Is that gross? Absolutely not.
