Sorry, but the cat jumped on my mouse (really!!!) and it hit submit before I was ready.
So, again....I'm curious. Do you all read the entire thread before posting a response, or do you read the first post and then respond immediately?

I read the entire thread so as not to repeat the same advice as a pp and also to see if/how the thread has turned :)

Usually the entire thread, but at least the first page ;).

Unless it's volatile and I want to have a say before it gets closed :rotfl2:

There should be an other option, it really depends, if it is a simple q & a type question i look and see if the question was answered, if someone asks for an experience with an airline or ME or something else then no I will post my response because my experience might be different from yours.

Now if it is a debate or I see that posters are posting information I know to be untrue, then I read the entire thread and respond as approriate.

Then there are times if the thread is 3 or 4 pages I don't even open it.

The good old cat excuse , sure sure.

I acutally have 5 of them and the responses they have posted on messages boards without my approval are very creative, to say the least.

When my Meeko is in the mood for a love, she will not be denied!! She doesn't much care what I'm doing at the computer!!!!

Well I'm really glad I read all the posts first before answering, because this is my answer too! :)

Yup... where's the 'other' option. 9/10 I'll read the entire thread to see if my point/question has already come up. If it's a long thread, I'll read the last 3-4 pages at least to get a feel for what's being discussed.

I've seen threads where posters ask/tell something to the OP and the OP had already answered/commented on that issue two posts before. Makes me want to say "Did you read before posting?"

I'm not sure if some posters even read (with comprehension) the original post! ( case in point: the lady who wanted to bring PB on the plane to have with her at the parks on her arrival day in her park bag.....got answers to check the PB (and therefore not have it on the first day because of ME lag time) and advice not to eat it on the plane (which she didn't imply she was considering-short flight) and advice to do without PB. ??? All info was contained in her first post, but reading comprehension must be poor these days.)

But, that doesn't answer your question.
I read all the posts, because if the answer is there, I won't answer and add unnecessary length to the thread (others could learn from this). And as a PP said, sometimes I will answer to clarify/correct others or add my experience. :thumbsup2
If the thread is 3-4+ pages long and is not interesting (or in some cases amusing to see the varied reactions of some posters), I won't read it all and usually won't post.

I did almost put in 'other' but decided against it. Usually, it's one or the other.
But I do have to agree about whether or not people even bother reading, and comprehending, the original post!!! So many people give an answer to something that isn't even relevant!! I have to wonder how quickly they read the first question!!!

I answered the poll without reading; however, I read all the posts before writing this :cool2:

This is the reason I read all the current responses before posting. I don't want to look stupid by asking something that has already been answered 3 pages in.
