AfternoonParade FP+... How Early?

How early is it recommended to arrive for an afternoon Parade FP+ at the Magic Kingdom?

I just booked mine for April 11th and I want to make sure I get good seats.

Not sure, but you don't need a FP to have a good view of the parade. In fact you don't have to sit and wait like so many do. Just wait for it to start, walk up and watch.

They open the area at 2:15

My friend was there last week. She said she arrived at the earliest time listed on the FP and all the front row seats were already taken. So they apparently opened the area early. She didn't have a bad spot, but it wasn't front row.

I also had my fp+ for it last week. My return time said 2:45 to 3:05. We had just done everything and were hanging around the Hub when I saw them opening the space at 2:15. Got front row seats, the nice thing about this area is that it never fills up, we were able to let my 3 year old niece run around behind us while we waited for the parade

I only pop in on the forum when planning a trip. Just scheduled one this past week..... what is a fastpass for a parade? Special seating? Which parades and where are the seats for a fastpass? Seems like a waste of a fastpass to me, but this whole fastpass + thing is throwing me for a loop, especially the scheduling of one 60 days out.

I agree with this. I saw the parade a couple weeks ago (its a good one, btw). Especially with the current limit of 3 FP+'s, I wouldn't use one on a parade.
