Afternoon Tea Alternative

My family will be returning to Disneyland this November after two years and many canceled trips, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an alternative to Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55. It was an important tradition for my daughter over the years, and she's very disappointed it isn't available (as am I!). She's 12 and, according to her, "too old" for princesses, so the Napa Rose Princess Breakfast is out, but if anyone has suggestions for another fun mother/daughter activity I'd appreciate it. Of course, nothing can really substitute for the real event, but I'd really appreciate ideas. Thank you in advance.

I loved that tea party too! Hopefully, they create something wonderful in the future for us .

I’d create my own tea party in Disneyland. Maybe like a treasure hunt.
Wear or get a fancy hat from Mad Hatter.
Pick-up fun teas to go from Market House and then some spectacular treats from Jolly Holiday. Set-up your table over at the Small World Mall behind where the Alice in Wonderland characters hang out. Say hello to Alice in your tea hats, ride the cups. Something along those lines…
I just bought some spectacular earl grey tea from Candy Palace, so good. Many great flavors that your daughter would enjoy as well. You’ll see these on your trip to DLR. ️

It's pretty late to find restaurant reservations in DLR for Nov, but you could maybe try a place like Ralph Brennan's and call ahead to see what you might be able to set up, if they have availability on one of your days. You could explain the situation and see what they might be willing to do--they have a pretty awesome bananas foster that they prepare at your table.

The only other thing I can think of is to go off-site. I'm not familiar with tea houses in the area, but I did attend an afternoon tea with my friends at Knott's Berry Farm in Sept. It's in the Mrs. Knott's Chicken restaurant so you don't need a park ticket. It wasn't as good as the one at DLR but it was still good and lots of fun. We actually brought our own special napkins and a few decorations because we were celebrating my friend's birthday.

Both of these tea houses are amazing. First one in Orange, very close the DLR…in the Orange Circle, which is delightful in its self. Second tea place in San Juan Capistrano. I’ll be at Los Rios with friends in Dec!

Booked the Holiday Tea at 2pm December 9th since I'm doing Merriest Nites at Disneyland and thought it would be a perfect way to tie things in and dress up !

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions. They all sound amazing. We won't have a car so I might try to make our own tea party at our hotel. I should have tried for reservations somewhere in Downtown Disney, but I didn't realize how much my daughter was going to miss this tradition. I do hope they bring it back in some form to DH or GCH. I've experienced Paris in a Teacup in Orange and it is well worth it!
Very exquisite and quite lovely. I hope you reconsider taking an Uber to treat your daughter.

If you had a car I’d suggest the tea service at the Hello Kitty Cafe down in Irvine (about 25 min drive away).

Maybe some cute pastries and warm fireside on the Grand Californian lobby for this year? It’s so wonderful you have an enduring tradition with your child. Hopefully something great opens at the Steakhouse 55 spot and tea service resumes in time for your next visit.
