We'll be arriving at DW on August 10 (a Sunday) around 11 a.m. or so. We are staying at the cabins at FW and am wondering which park we should go to that afternoon, if any. The kids have never been and I think I would be crucified if I decided to not bring them anywhere. So, which park for a Sunday afternoon?

I would go to EPCOT to Worldshowcase. You can relax, enjoy the sights, eat some great food and then get a prime spot for Illuminations! What a great way to start your vacation!:)

AK is a good choice as well as things start to get quiet as people leave in the afternoon

MK would be busy on a Sunday to some extent as it is an Early Entry day but the boat ride to MK from FW might be a neat way to open up the trip

thanks

I think Sunday's a great day for Epcot. You might want to check out crowd levels in Future World first - depends what time you get there. Later on in the afternoon, a lot of people may have already headed to WS. Plus you may be lucky enough to catch MS, which, according to people on this board, they have been have soft openings late in the afternoon/early evening.

No matter what day we arrive, we always do EPCOT first. We usually are in the park by 2 and do Future World. Like pigby said, many people have gone out to WS and we have walked on many of the major attractions. Since we come back for WS on another day, we usually skip Illuminations on the first night to get a nice dinner and head back to rest for the next day!

Good luck, and have lots of fun!

I agree about the boat ride from FW into MK being a GREAT way for a kid to start their vacation. But MK is probably going to be the park the little kids enjoy most so sometimes you don't always want to start off with the best. Epcot is probably the most 'boring' to most kids so starting there (while they still have the early 'woohoo! we're at WDW' glow on) might not be a bad idea. I guess since you can hop the bus to the Transportation Center and THEN take a monorail to Epcot that's just as cool if not cooler.

We don't like to use a days ticket just for half a day. we always arrice on Sundays and we usually go ride the monorail throuout the "world" and then go to Downtown Disney for the evening and then hit the parks bright and early the next day. Keep in mind if you go to Epcot in the afternoon they usually run out of Fastpasses for Test Track by then and the wait would very long!! You may not care about that but just a thought.
