Local here... I live in Winter Garden which is just out the back gate of Disney... where they are building Flamingo Bay, and all the new Dorms for Disney... I live just a few exits away down the 429
We are AP holder with no restrictions.. so I could see us going right away, like the day or weekend they open back up whatever that might look like... I am thinking that Disney Springs might open first... we will definitely be going right away to have lunch or dinner maybe both... and do some shopping... I can see lots of Locals like us, getting out to support our community... Disney and it's Cast Member are part of our community...
However or whenever you make the decision to come...
It's your choice... you have to make the best decision based on what your think is right for you and yours...how you are going to handle it and what precautions you are going to use and be okay with it, and not hold Disney responsible they are going to do the best that they can do, and
with Disney they always go above and beyond to take care of and protect the guest....
It's really not for anyone to judge what someone else decides to do for their family... like you they have to make that decision for their family and themselves...
I could see alot of hand sanitizer stations, maybe before entering the ride car and on the way out of the rides and shows... as well when entering a restaurant like on a cruise ship when entering the dinning room... maybe even wiping the bars downs when you exit a ride...
I think that parades and fireworks might have to wait... for a while...
Menus are another thing that will need to be address, on how to clean them...
I am a hand-washer, and some what of a germaphobe... and I'm that lady with the disinfecting wipes that most people have been giving the side eye to for years and years..... maybe I wasn't so crazy after all...In QS wiping down the tables and chairs, and I have even wiped down tables at TS lots of times, especially at the Buffets...I wipe down the resort or hotel rooms when we travel, not just upon arrival but daily when we return to the room - the housekeeper could be sick... The first time DH and I flew together was when we were engaged, he was like what are you doing, when I started wiping down the seat, tray table/seat back, the window... basically the whole area... I was like they never clean this stuff... so I pulled his tray table down and wiped across it, and showed him the "stuff" on the tray... he has been on board ever since... I will admit I might go a little far with it sometimes... I carry a baggie with disinfecting wipes with me all the time, way before this ever happened... Nothing beats soap and water... wash your hands, hand sanitizer is a good tool to help you until you can wash your hands... how many times have you seen someone come out of stall in the restroom and not wash their hands... sooo.. maybe a bathroom monitor is going to be needed like in elementary school, or a siren going off pointing to the person... and/or a net falling from the ceiling or coming from the floor scooping them up and carrying them back to a sink to wash their hands... all these could be methods are just a thought for those who don't wash their hands.
Everyone should take personal responsibility for themselves and family...
Air travel is going to have to step up their game .... Having the plane really cleaned between flights... like a crew of people that come on board and clean... wiping down with a high grade disinfecting liquid or spray on all the touch points which on a plane is pretty much everything... I would think that wearing a mask on a plane for the most part will become the new norm... for a while at least...
