After we set up our camp, we take off to get the cart. After all this business is taken care of, we treat ourselves to a snack from the grocery stores. Since we don't go to the parks on our check in day, we have the rest of the day to have fun away from our camp but still at the Fort.

At the Fort but away from your camp, what do you look forward to do on your first day???

Depending on the weather, if it's warm, I'm usually sweating like a pig after setting up, so I take a dip in the pool, then go have dinner at Trails End then watch the fireworks and water pageant from the dock. If it's cool, then I skip the pool, and go straight to dinner at Trails End, then the movie, then the stuff at the dock.

We set up camp, walk the dogs then go to MGM for the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

First full day is ALWAYS Magic Kingdom!!

Getting Excited - it's almost time for our October trip!:woohoo:

After getting there and setting up we are just so glad to have it all done, we usually just ride around in our golf cart and check out the campground.

We usually plan a character meal or a dinner out on that day. We set up, get comfy and then ride our bikes or something. Later we have dinner, watch fireworks from beach and the water pagent.

... have our traditional 'just set up camp at FW meal'; bbq chicken, baked beans, pringles, sometimes pasta salad. We just soak in that "ahh, we're finally at Fort Wilderness" feeling.

After setting up we cruise in the GC, go for a boat and monorail ride then head for dinner at TE, then fireworks and water parade.

Go get our AP vouchers and head over to a park usually EPCOT to get our actual APs and then maybe either a parade and/or FW. This year we will be driving to SOG to get our AP vouchers and then driving to EPCOT to get out APs and then probably go back to FW and have dinner at TE.

We actually get all set up and then head out to Downtown Disney.

My wife's already talking about how she's needing her "Earl of Sandwich" fix.:thumbsup2

Have had many opportunities to try the "earl of sandwich". Unfortunately the temptation of the hot fudge sundae at ghiradelli's has kept us from getting to the restaurant for a real meal, unless you count chocolate for a food group. Which we do, it's on top of the pyramid. What is the sandwich speciality at the earls that your wife is fixated on?

Take the boat over to the Contemporary, hop on the monorail and check out all the hotels on the loop. Watch the fireworks and have something to eat at Trails End.

Collapse.......:upsidedow .....Then we wake up refreshed and ready for some Hoop Dee Doo and water parade....

Well, we've only been there once so far, darn it !! BUT the next time we go we plan on biking over to WL to go to Roaring Forks for a late lunch. Then we will come back and spend a few hours relaxing and checking out the fort. We love to go "looping". :) Then we will have dinner at TE and watch the fireworks at the beach and go to bed earlier that night since we will probably be hitting a park for day 2 !!

We want to try to do the parks every other day if possible, depending on EMH.

On our first day of our vacation to the fort we always go to Downtown Disney. We have to go to Earl of Sandwich as fast as we can. It is so yummy.

After rounding up all the kids from around the loop we usually just ride the GC and explore before the movie. Our favorite is the movie:cool1:

:) Thanks for all of your ideas because combined that is what I was thinking of doing on our 1st day at the FORT. My SIL and I have been discussing stuff to do when we arrive.:rolleyes1 We know DH and BIL will go along with it.:rotfl2:

It will be our first trip to FW in Dec '08 and after setting up will have to GC with a toddie in my hand, beer for DH and SIL because myself and kids will be bouncing off the walls wanting to go, go, go.:yay: I was thinking of making HDDR reservations for the night we arrive and kick off the evening since we can now do that 6mos in advance. And then YES, MK the very next day, :woohoo: bright and early. Hopefully it will be a magic hours day. I cannot wait to see the eyes on my DS who will then be 6 when we walk through the gates. And like most have said need to have relax days too to enjoy the Fort.

About when do the fireworks and water parade start in December?? I would like to do that several times and the campfire. So much to do, so little time.:sad2: COLOR]

We go down to the settlement and sit on the front porch and watch the tourists. :thumbsup2
