Trying to figure out the best way to get back to the Grand Floridian after Illuminations our first evening. We are having dinner in Morroco and plan to stay for the fireworks.

Is is better to deal with the crowds and take the monorail or should we walk to Yacht Club/Beach Club and take a taxi? How long is the walk to YC/BC? How long is the walk to the Boardwalk from the International Gateway?

We will have our three sons, ages 11,9,7, if that makes any difference. No stroller this trip :cool1:

Thanks!

You could go out the back entrance to Epcot to either the Beach Club or the Boardwalk or the Yacht & Beach Club ( about a 10 min walk) to any of them and call a cab, but I don't think that will be any quicker.
If you watch the fireworks from just to the left of the fast food Mexico restaurant(best viewing), then walk around, then just catch your bus to the Grand Floridian. If you catch the mororail, you will still have to go to the ticket and transportation center to change to a resort monorail. Just catching the bus seems easier. Wait a few minutes after the fireworks, look around in Mousegears, for the crowds to ease and you won't feel like you are waiting so long.
Have a great trip!

From Morrocco, it's about a 10 minute walk to BW, 8 mins to BC/YC. I like to just hang back after IllumiNations if I'm not staying at an Epcot resort. Then, as the crowds start to dwindle, I just amble on out. I would take the monorail then switch over to the resort line to GF. I hate having to rush around, so I enjoy people watching, a little end of day shopping in MouseGear, then a leisurely walk/ride back to the resort.

There is no bus from Epcot to the GF, in order to get back to the GF from Epcot you must take the monorail back to the TTC and then get the resort monorail to the GF.
It is just a short walk from Morroco over to the International Gateway, and then you can walk over to the Beach Club for a taxi. I would suspect that the cost of a taxi would be about $15.00 or so. We usually just like to wait for the crowds to thin out a bit, we sit and have a snack and then stroll through the World Showcase, shopping at Mousegears can use up some of your time, but keep in mind its pretty crowded at night because alot of people are doing the same thing you are.
It would be faster to take the taxi, but if you are willing to hang out and take your time. You should miss the huge surge of the crowds going for the exit and the monorail and buses.
