After Hours Events - Ask Questions and Share Experiences Here

Wow. At a previous HS AH event we attended they were actively telling people to leave if they didn’t have bracelets.
When was that? Like I said above, back in April they were checking everywhere and CMs were standing at hub entrances checking too. Completely the opposite in January other than for the first hour or so at the rides and snack stands where they checked initially the stopped later.

We went to two Halloween parties in September and the effort to get non wristband wearing guests out of there was top notch. It should be the same for these AH parties too because I think we actually paid more for them than the MNSSHP tickets due to no AP discounts now. However there are far fewer people at the AH parties so I'm starting to think WDW is pinching pennies on the staffing of them these days.

It was last year so definitely hope the lax enforcement in January gets tightened up.

On a different topic, we would like to know if PhotoPass photographers are available for character photographs during After Hours events. We are planning on going to DHS AH in March and my wife is interested in the special characters.

When we went there were no photopass photographers, the character handler took pictures of us with our phone.

During the AH we attended last year at HS we also noticed quite a few guests without wristbands walking by the stands that had bottles of water and soda and boxes of popcorn and ice cream bars just sitting out and helping themselves to everything. None of CMs were checking for wristbands at the refreshment locations.
I'd be very tempted to say "Hey! Where's your wrist band?" loud enough that I'd hope the CM would hear it.

Sorry I did not read all 57 pages so this may have been answered.

Is there a consensus on which park is the best park for Disney After Hours?

There would be no consensus because people's tastes are different.

Magic Kingdom is great because it has so many rides and things to do. The park really absorbs the limited crowds and waits are very good.
DHS is great because there are a lot of top tier attractions to do, things are close together. On a per ride basis you are probably saving the most time here compared to a regular park day at DHS
Epcot is, in my opinion, not worth it. There aren't enough rides and the distances between them are so massive that just the walks between things are very time consuming.

Does anyone have a complete list of available characters at DHS after hours this year?

According to the Internet:
  • Bo Peep: Can be met in Toy Story Land

  • Geppetto and Jiminy Cricket: Can be met near the center of the park

  • Thumper: Can be met at Hollywood Studios

  • Mary Poppins: Can be met on Grand Avenue

  • Burt and the Penguin: Can be met on Grand Avenue

  • The White Rabbit: Can be met on Grand Avenue

  • Mickey and Minnie: Can be met at Red Carpet Dreams

  • Olaf: Can be met at Celebrity Spotlight

  • Ariel: Can be met at Walt Disney Presents

  • Chewbacca, BB-8, and Darth Vader: Can be met in Star Wars Launch Bay

  • Donald and Daisy: Can be met on the balcony near Oscar's Super Service

  • Goofy: Can be met on the balcony at Tower of Terror

  • Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and Pluto: Can be met in Animation Courtyard

  • Jessie and Buzz Lightyear: Can be met in Toy Story Land

  • Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers: Can be met near First Order Cargo

This is a good observation. We usually love AH, and have done the events at all 4 parks when offered.

Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are widely regarded as the best, probably because of variety. MK offers more rides, while HS offers lots of rides and includes lots of characters.

I love EPCOT AH largely because of Guardians. I could ride Guardians over and over. My guess is that if Guardians went down, it would significantly impact my experience, especially with Test Track and Caballeros currently being down.

On the flip side, I'm currently not digging MK AH. No Tiana's Bayou Adventure and no BTMRR really let the air out of it for me. Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Mine Train are favorites, but I think Frontierland was always a big part of our prior AH experiences. It gobbled up people too, making lines thinner elsewhere.

Never full listened but the Green Army Men are almost always out.

Bo Peep is the creepiest character ever. I accidentally ran into that area and I was scared. That mask.

Did anyone attend the Hollywood Studios after hours on 2/19? When I checked wait times at 10:00 and 11:00p, many still looked pretty long compared to other after hours dates. Just can't quite decide if we want to try this on our next trip.

Can anyone who has been to MKAH this month comment on crowd levels. Also what time can we actually enter? I have seen some conflicting information. Thanks in advance

Your digital ticket should tell you, where it says event hours and event check in. I think it’s has been 7 pm for all recent AH.

Does anyone know what rides are available at HS after hours event? Also I saw a comment on wait times? What is that? Thanks!

Has anyone tried to purchase discounted AH tix throu Sams Club. I saw them advertised but they are not showing up on their website and when I went to local Sams Club woman at service counter didn’t know what I was talking about

You can also buy them through AAA. I'm not sure how much I saved in comparison to Undercover.

I purchased ticket for this week at AP price so I think I probably did get the best price but I’m thinking of also buying tickets for the June date so wanted to check to make sure Sams price isn’t a better deal.
