After Hours event in August?

With how they're having to slash prices so DVC & passholders will buy up the remaining tickets, I'm thinking it won't last past May. But if they're able to start selling out the events at full price for each ticket...the odds would be likely you'll see it for at least another year.

Haven't seen any hints about it on the blogs or other rumor sources, BUT my hunch is that they're still on the fence. Late Summer hours still haven't been posted yet (June still shows 10pm nightly close) and my hunch is they're placeholoders for possible future dates of this event.

I got to do it April 28 ( my birthday ) and it was great walked on to just about every thing ( I think I waited 5 minute to meet the princess if that) there was barely any one there free ice cream and sodas I would love for them to do this more often but I am sure disney lost money on this event ( I can see them raising the price of it.

We went to the April 28th event. It was an amazing night. The park was strangely empty; my kids described Adventureland as eerie. We were able to ride 7 Dwarves over and over; stayed on Splash Mtn, Thunder Mtn for multiple rides, Meet n Greet with Mickey (no wait), Anna and Elsa (5 min wait). 3 hours doesn't sound like a lot of time, but we accomplished so much in that time. You can get in at 7 PM with the event ticket.I would do it again. I hope this event happens another time we are there.

I got in at 6;30 and they let me in with my ticket for it I am all so an AP so I do not know if that helped but they were standing with the layers they give you at 6;30

Good to know--we didn't get to Magic Kingdom until about 9 PM. We were not planning to go that evening & had been up early that morning. I needed to get my youngest to take a nap before heading back to the parks.

My sister and my 14 year old daughter asked a Disney employee for directions back to our resort....and she gave them tickets to the event. Very random and very much appreciated. I had debated purchasing tickets for the event but wasn't sure the event would be "worth it". Now, I see the worth in it and would definitely spend the money for it if it is offered again when we are in Orlando.

My guess is that they will try it out this summer (maybe only once a week, and maybe charging a little less) after having let word spread a bit, and if it still doesn't start selling out, they'll scrap it.

It's May 4 and that event is still not scheduled after May 19...I doubt it. I don't think it is selling well enough for them. Doesn't mean they won't try something else.

My guess they will extend it, though I doubt they will have this in the fall with the holiday parties already taking up a lot of nights. But who knows.

I can't see them scrapping something so quickly. It hasn't had time to catch on. If people had more noticed than a month, I would bet more people would sign up.
Or maybe they need a slight price adjustment. I feel there is a demand for this sorta thing --- to experience an EMPTY park .. to experience all the rides with NO lines .. to be in the park REALLY late at night.

Just because the first few events weren't sellouts isn't telling. I mean word has BARELY gotten out to the general public. People who already had their April vacations planned probably didn't have enough notice to even consider it. Travel agents haven't had time to promote it, etc. How many people going to WDW right now don't even know this is available?

I see this as a way for Disney to test having a hard-ticket night event during the first 8 months of the year.
I definitely see the Early Morning Magic thing to be way more popular than this (and they will probably extend this to other parks). They would be silly to not offer a Askerhus breakfast package that gives you early access to A&E and the new ride.

True, but a lot of that is likely the need for more publicity and word of mouth, and a lower price point. They probably scheduled the original for only several weeks to see what price people would/wouldn't pay & get the word out, then plan to rerelease in summer, after word has spread and the price can be adjusted down a bit.

Seems unlikely they would develop this and not give it the summer to pass or fail, since that's when the bigger demand for this event will be. An event showing up last-minute for only weeks in April and May doesn't provide enough information to them to decide if the public will support a paid, non-party after-hours event or not. I don't think this is finished yet.

Did you pay $150 per ticket to get in? Just wondering, because I don't think the average family of 5, would pay $750 for a few hours at the MK, even if the rides were walk on.
