We are staying until Sunday after a 7 day cruise and would love ideas on what to do after we get off on Saturday and late flight home Sunday. Anyone have ideas on where to stay and what to do? NO Disney world or Universal please.

I was just looking into this because we are flying out on the Sunday and Kennedy Space Centre is super close and looks amazing.

We loved our visit to KSC.. amazing Apollo exhibit worth We spent most time there actually... kids were 9, 6 & 15 mos and all enjoyed. Stayed at Hilton. We were able to catch a little beach time on last day before driving up to MCO.

If you stay in Port Canaveral, we like the Residence Inn. Free breakfast there. Nice pool. Lori Wilson park is a lovely beach (free) to spend a morning or afternoon. Kennedy Space Center is almost a whole day. Great tour. I know you mentioned no DW, but Disney springs is fun to walk around and some new places to eat there worth trying. Sometimes we visit a few Disney resorts. Polynesian. Shopping, lunch, dinner, drinks then monorail over to the Contemporary. Just a few of the things we have done. Hope you have fun!

Here is an option if you like the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park is excellent. There are several nice restaurants in a very pretty downtown with lunch nearby. www.morsemuseum.org

We have a 9pm flight Saturday. We’ve decided to go on an airboat tour. DH and I did one in New Orleans but our kids never have. I think they’ll love it. We are also planning to mini golf at Wintertime Summerland and head to the Polynesian to eat at their quick service and get a dole whip, though I know you’re not interested in wdw.

I'd be heading to a WDW resort spend the day by the pool, hit Disney springs, Magical Express to airport Sunday.

This sounds perfect. We want to really see what Florida has other than the big tourist stuff. I will look at this.

Winter Park would be a really nice place to spend a couple of days and see some historical Florida. In addition to the Morse Museum, I would also recommend the Cornell, Polasek House, Casa Feliz, and if you enjoy gardens, the Mead Gardens and Leu Gardens. A boat tour on the chain of lakes is also fun.

Let's see..quite a few awesome things to do that do not involve Disney. :)
1. Kennedy Space Center : Head over there on Saturday after you get off the ship. Very interesting and close to port. https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/

2. Brevard Zoo: Pretty close to port, but definitely not a long time needed to see it. Very nice zoo, but on the small side. https://brevardzoo.org/

3. Cherie Downs Park on Cape Canaveral. Great beach with lifeguards and close to port. There are bathrooms (small) and an outside shower to rinse off. Free parking and a quick walk over the boardwalk to the beach. http://www.inbrevard.com/cape-canaveral/parks-and-recreation-guide/68/cherie-down-park.html

After you head over to Orlando, you might want to look into these places.
1. Gatorland https://www.gatorland.com/

2. Wonder Works, Madame Toussards, Orlando Eye and Aquarium:
