DAY 1/2 - After countless days of counting I'm finally here at SSR awaiting my brother and his family.

Landed early yesterday so I was at the resort well before 11:00 am. Needless to say the room wasn't ready but....initially they couldn't find my ressie. I originally asked to stay in the Springs then changed my mind last week. Called MS and they "supposedly" made the change. Well we don't know what they did, but the front desk couldn't find the ressie and a supervisor had to help. Finally he found it and it was still for the Springs. Ok...no real problem. The test is tomorrow when I go down, check out and check back in with the DP. :goodvibes

Went had lunch at Artist Pallette (sp) and found a nice cool spot to read. Then it happened......horrible stomach cramps.......oh please don't let me be getting sick. Well, I will NOT go into details, but let me say I was sick...so sick I never unpacked. Just ran between the bathroom and the bed. I really think my sandwich from AP may have been bad or just didn't agree. But be that as it may I feel ONE MILLION times better today...for now! ;)

I have a nice studio right behind the bus stop at the Springs and I can appreciate the short walk to the pool.

Today...well I'm not enirely sure what I'll do. I may head into the MK or I may just vege at the pool then head in. I'll figure that out as the morning progresses.

My brother and family have one more day and they'll be here. What's really nice is that tomorrow is my birthday and not only will I be in WDW but I'll be with my family.

See you all later!

Enjoy your day! I'm glad that you feel better!

Being sick is miserable - being sick on vacation is the worst! I'm so glad you feel better. Enjoy the day, whatever you decide to do. It sounds fabulous that you get to just go where the day takes you. These solo trip reports sure get me to thinking. :rolleyes1 I hope your birthday is wonderful with your brother and his family!!

What a fantastic day...:goodvibes

Headed into the MK for Early Opening and strolled up Main Street and went over to Buzz. I love Buzz...Rode that twice, went to the "Peope Mover" for a nice ride then went huntig for a cup of coffee!! Most of the usual places weren't opened and I needed my caffine!! After finding something that was close to ice coffee ;);) I went into the Haunted Mansion. Love the new entrance!! Very interactive now!! Then strolled to Splash Mountain where I got very wet and then Pirates! I didn't want to do to much since my family will be her tomorrow for a week and I know we'll be back there!

Back to the resort for some pool time and I see I have a message. Front desk has a delivery for me...hummm..I didn't order anything. BUT MY HUSBAND DID......on the table right under my nose was a dozen red roses for my birthday tomorrow. They are so beautiful....I'll post pictures when I get home...I forgot the cable plus I don't know how to do it!! He called Disney alla by him self...I'm so proud of him!!!

So off to the pool for a few hours then it really was too hot for me; needed A/C. Rested, showered and headed to DTD. Picked up a well needed "Mouse" for this computer then headed to T-Rex for dinner. Nice...very nice but very noisey also. Same as the Rainforest Cafe just with Dinosaurs. Food was good; very surprised.

And now I'm relaxing because my R&R is over as of tomorrow when the kids come! Hahaha...Actually I've already told my brother that there may be a day or two where "Aunt Linda" skips the parks in the morning and will meet up with everyone later on and he total understands.

So that's the end of day 2 for me and I have 6 more glorious days to look forward to now with my brother and his family! :thumbsup2

OK Ms. WDW - I am totally jealous!

I really wish I could just go jump on a plane and float around the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon for a few days - AHHHH - how amazing would that be?!

But, I could also go for some Space Mountain time as well - and AH - if only I could see Illuminations tonight! :cloud9:

The whole world would be better!

Linda! I'm SO sorry you were sick:sick: but thank goodness THAT is over and you are now having the vacation you were hoping and waiting for. How wonderful to have "The World" all to yourself for a few days before the kids have you running all over the place! You were very smart to arrange it that way.:cloud9:

I love, love, LOVE my SSR. Have the time of your life with your family and Happy, Happy Birthday to YOU, my friend!:wizard:

OH....as of today I only have 100 days until Oct. and BWV and F & W. I'm almost in double digits! :woohoo:

I once also had a couple of days solo before the family arrived. I just loved the alone time but also knowing that soon I would have loved ones to enjoy the rides with me. You have the best of both vacation styles!
Glad that your illness was short-lived. Have a great remainder to your trip!

Well I had the best massage this morning compliments of DH for my birthday. If anyone has the chance to visit the Spa I highly recommend Meghan for a massage. I've had her a few times and she is in my opinion one of the best around.

DB and family have arrived. I got the call when I was "roasting" at the pool. It's hot people and I took about 2 hours of sun and decided that a rest in the a/c of my room would get me nice and energized for tonight when I meed the family and kids!! Dinner is at the Rose and Crown and then it off to where ever we wind up!! I can't wait.

So on that note; I'll say "Have a Magical Day" and I'll see you all later!!

I totally agree about having people with you on rides. Especially since the kids and SIL have never been here!

Happy Birthday Linda !!! :cake:party:

Nothing could be better than celebrating at the most magical, happiest place on earth and that is soooooo nice your DH surprised you with roses !! Don't forget to wear your birthday button :goodvibes

Have an awesome day !

Happy Birthday Linda!! It sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing couple of days at WDW. The massage just sounds heavenly. We've been to the SSR spa before, and I love it there. How sweet of your DH to surprise you with the flowers too.

Hope the afternoon rest is energizing you for the night. Have a great time with your family!!!

Just got home denched from an evening storm. I actually had to break down and pick up a poncho! I hate those hot sweaty things; but I needed more than my Mickey umbrella tonight!

Dinner at Rose and Crown was so nice. I had the Fish and Chips with some Irish ale that I loved! Hahaha...be nice if I knew what it was so I could order it again. I'll look at the receipt. I was surprised with a delicious birthday cake and lots of singing!! Oh... speaking of which, since I did wear my button all day, when I got on the bus to Epcot to meet DB, the bus driver made this "BIG AND LOUD" announcement that it was "Linda's Birthday" and the entire bus began to sing!! Only in Disney.....:goodvibes

Hit a few rides before the heavens opened up and the kids are just taking it all in. I love it.

Well, I'm tired...I forgot what it was like to try and do everything in one night! Thank heavens for DVC!!

Tomorrow....Early Entry for the MK. Pray for me!! :rotfl:

Well surprise...MK opened at 9 today not 8:00 as thought! But!!! My brother and his family were picked to open the park!!! How cool was that??? They got to ride the train in with Micket and crew; got all sort of cool pictures and felt like a million bucks!! I was so happy for them!! If my bus hadn't been slow I would have been with them but who cares!! This was awesome!!

Did lots of rides, spent about 6 hours in the park and I had enough fun for now! Back at SSR sitting out another storm then back to Epcot for dinner later. I want to see if I can get some shopping done; not sure if the rain will let me. We had downpours last night....looks like we may have the same later. Oh well...it's Florida!!

Fabulous! I would give anything to have someone from our big family chosen next October. Certainly this experience will be one they will never forget. Just great!!!

Ms. WDW...........my DD & I are also at SSR right now. It is our first time at this resort & we are really enjoying it. We are in the Grandstand Section. Love the "quiet" pool.

We were in the torrential downpour last night also. DD's sneakers are still drying!

Currently waiting for this big cloud to pass so we can also head to EPCOT for our ADR's!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I am enjoying your TR. Good news about your DB and family getting to open the park. Any chance you were able get there in time to take pictures? I think just watching some family open the park would have been great.

Other than the getting sick part, it sounds like you are having a terrific time!!!

Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Well Jean what you have to do is pick a morning that is NOT an early opening day and get there at 8 am!! LOL...we thought that MK opened at 8 when it actually opened at 9 so there was practically no one at the entrance! :rotfl:
