What do you do for the rest of the day? DTD, character dining, hit the parks? We are arriving a little before noon and we check into WL. Any thoughts? What did you do?

if i am there that early, we hit the parks. since moving to florida i get there alot earlier than i used to. maily because i can't sleep so end up driving all night and getting there early. lol... but we hit whatever park DS wants to go to.

I'd say hit the park that has the evening EMH. But then, I always have so much adrenline that day it's easy to stay up late even though I was up way too early that morning.

We always go to MK first and then take the monorail over to Chef Mickey's for dinner:thumbsup2 it's our tradition!!!

we like to take it slow the first day...this time around we will arrive at the resort at 2ish if flight go according to plan so we will unwind, hit the pool, check out the resort and then we are doing 1900 park fare for a nice dinner and then we might do a monorail ride after.

yeah I am torn since if it is my kids first time if I should take them right to a park or let them relax and get a good dinner. I know I would like to hit the parks, but I didn't know with the traveling if it would be to much for DS2 and DS6.:confused3

We go to MK first thing and see the castle. Then we ride a few rides and head back to the resort for a swim. We end the day with a nice dinner.

The best way to go for my family is to buy extra theme park park hopper tickets and go the day you arrive plus you originally planned days.

They may seem tired and unwilling to go to the parks but as soon as you walk through the gates they will be filled with magic and awake almost instantly.

If it were us, we usually pop into a park for a few hours, if only to do a ride or two. Just kinda get our feet wet. Being local, however, our trips are usually centered around a resort and probably a meal somewhere, so we usually plan a dinner for our first night....

We are not local-but we do take it slow and do more viewing than ridind.

We usually have lunch, get into our room, unpack, swim for a little while and then drive to Universal where we have dinner at Emeril's every year. This year friends are going with us and we have altered our plans. We will arrive at the resort around 12:30 or 1:00 and hope to check in, take a quick dip in the pool and then head over to Hollywood Studios for dinner at Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Package and stay for extra magic hours.

Our tradition has always been to hit DTD, have a nice meal, maybe swim, and then get a good nights rest.

We'll If we arrived early then we can go and have a nice dinner or lunch at Chef's Mickey and then go to visit MK (Fantasyland and Tomorrowland). Have time to watch the Parades and then go back to the hotel and have some rest.

We have always taken the same flight arriving in the evening. We go to the hotel, check in, eat at the food court, and then head to EPCOT to watch the fireworks. Our next trip in September we are going to take a red eye and getting to WDW early in the morning. We plan to rest a bit and probably go to MGM. Can't wait.

We are not arriving until about 9 pm. At first we figured we would just swim for a while and then get some sleep, then we saw that magic kingdom is open until 11 pm, with extra magic hours. so now, we are going to go to mk, get something hot to eat (even if it's just burgers) and maybe hit some of the rides. this will be the first time not arriving in the early am. what i am worried about is what room is going to be left for us. my sister will be in a wheelchair, so i know they have to give us a first floor in AB section of POR, but I am hoping for something looking at a quiet pool...at least that is what i requested as my water view.

Since we no longer have AP's and will have park hopper tickets - we will not waste a park day when we only have 4 hours to do one. So we also plan to do DTD and walk around the resort. We have never stayed at the YC - only have walked by it on the way to EPCOT. I am sure we can find lots of things to discover at the YC while we wait for our room. Plus eat lunch !

We would do MK if we had a ticket for the day. If you do not wish to use a ticket day or do not have AP's - then do an alternative. :goodvibes

We usually have rented a car, so we love to go resort hopping! We'll check in, either nap/swim/eat and then we're off!

We usually always eat at 'Ohana on our arrival day, and then ride the monorail & poke around the GF & Contemporary. Sometimes we'll head over to AKL to watch the animals with the night vision goggles, shop in the stores at WL or BC.... we just check it all out! Very fun!:goodvibes

We'll be arriving around 1pm at the Dolphin. If our room is ready we'll unpack, grab a bite to eat and tour the hotel, maybe take a swim then it will be off to Epcot for our 7:30 ADR at Biergarten.

If it's not ready we'll head over to boardwalk have lunch and explore a bit, then go back and relax until we head to Epcot.
