After 7 years on 3rd shift, DH has a 1st shift job!!!!!

DH has been at the same company 22 years. For the past seven he has been on 3rd shift. We have had black trash bags on our bedroom windows and all so that he can sleep. I have felt like I was sleeping in a tomb. Never could wake up to sunshine.

April 5 he starts a 1st shift job with same company and I am so excited. Can't wait to uncover our bedroom windows!! Plus get to go to bed and wake up with DH every day. Hooray!!!

Congratulations, although I must say that I love 3rd shift (have been on it for 17 years). And yes, our bedroom is like a tomb, too! I keep saying that I'll get those dark drapes like hotels and cruise ships have, but for now, it's flannel sheets on the windows

That's great news!! My dh's schedule changes weekly, one week days, the next nights. And his days off are always different! However, we are hoping that he may start working 10 hr. days, and a straight day shift! I'm crossing my fingers...

Working third shift is very hard on a person, especially one with a family. My husband had to do it for one year and he never got used to it. He said it was just unnatural to try and sleep during daytime hours. And he always look exhausted.
