After 4pm Park Tickets for DVC members?

On general principle- I would like to be offered the same perks and discounts as FL residents. My travel habits don't work with AP usage- so we do the 10 day no-exp tickets. I sometimes use a ticketed event party (ie: MNSSHP) as a way to stretch my tickets. Swim and relax in the day- hit MK at 4 or 5 pm.
I would love to be able to buy an EPCOT after 4 pass and use it to economize my myw tix. Of course I don't expect Disney to offer it unless they see it as being in their best interest- still I would like to see DVC'ers as top tier guests when it comes to perks that are offered to select demographics (AP holders, FL residents...)

When my kids were much younger we would get this pass. This was our pre-DVC days and we would go to WDW in the summer for 4-5 days. We stayed at the BC and just hung out at the pool all day. We'd head into Epcot at night -- our favorite time to be there -- and enjoy a nice dinner and Illuminations.

I actually kind of miss those times! They were soooo relaxing!

If you go so often to get an annual pass you wouldn't need anything to eat at Epcot. If you are going to be in WDW so many times that you would love to eat in Epcot 20 times or so, wouldn't you also want to go to another park?

An entire year of only Epcot after 4:00 doesn't sound enticing to me..

If you go enough so that an AP makes sense, that would be your best value. But for many it isn't.

And, this would be for days when you don't want to go to Epcot for the whole day, but would of course not preclude you from using other options on days when you do want to go for the whole day.

I do understand your point.
I just can't imagine anyone taking several trips a year to WDW, and not doing any parks other than Epcot after 4:00.

Yes, we're all different, but this one just seems odd to me.

Are you saying, for example, get a 10 day MYW without hopping, plus an after 4 Epcot ticket. Then, on a pool day, use the Epcot ticket for dinner so you don't burn a full day off the MYW?

Exactly. Or in addition to whatever ticket you primarily use. I think a long term (8-10 day) no-expiration, MYW w/Park Hopping is a great value overall. But I don't want to use that to run into Epcot for a Dinner or a few drinks.

I guess this would be most valuable for BWV and BCV members, but may still have appeal to others as well. (You’re only a SHORT bus ride away!)

Exactly! It could 'extend' the value of your 10 day pass. Spend the day at the pool or at mini golf or at DTD or whatever, and then spend the evening at Epcot. If you did it twice a year, it would pay for itself.

And you really could forgo the hoping option on the MYW. I mean, you would always have the option to hop to Epcot.

For us a PAP works best, but I've seen the light as to why this would be a good option to have.

I see nothing odd about it at all. We've been to WDW 5 times in the last year and we're both pretty much "Disneyed" out, especially when it comes to the parks. We're both 55+ old and really look forward to spending more relaxing time just hanging out at the resort. Plus we plan on spending more time in the future seeing other attractions in the central Florida area besides WDW parks. BUT we do really enjoy WS at Epcot - especially the restaurants. What's wrong with wanting a pass that would just give us that?

Frankly, I hope I never have to hear "It's A Small World" again for several years.

What's the consensus on this? How many Park Days before the 10-day non-expiring works out to be the better deal? We usually do AP's because they're easier, but we too are traveling less to The World due to higher travel costs.

It depends on your touring/vacationing style. For those who feel that they must go into the parks daily, AP works well. For those who enjoy 'no park' days, the non-exp PHP works great. That would be us. Our 10 day will last us several visits, about 2 to 3 years (only going into the parks 1 or 2 times in a week).

Disney wants DVCers using APs. With an AP, people are prone to want to take that "one more trip before the pass expires." Too many of those extra trips leads to an add-on.

I also think that DVC members using APs don't do much to maximize the value of the park admission, either. AP holders visit for a couple hours...go to 2 or 3 attractions...hopefully (in Disney's eyes) spend $100 on a nice meal...and then leave.

By comparison, if you give people access to "after 4pm" admission at a reduced price, they will still try to cram an entire day's worth of attractions in that limited time block.

Actually for someone like us, after 4 at Epcot would earn WDW much more money. We use the 10 day PHP and don't go into the parks many days. If we had that after 4, we would probably visit Epcot every evening for the fireworks and world showcase. And have dinner ($$$)! As it stands now, we eat off site several nights, or in the villa.

Well there's certainly nothing "wrong" with it at all.
I just find it odd, but as I said.. "we're all different".

I guess it's just us, but we don't tire of the Disney parks. I just enjoy walking around and being there. We don't wake up early to go, nor do we run from attraction to attraction. That said, I would feel disappointed if I didn't do the Haunted Mansion, and a few other select attractions every visit (of which It's a Small World is NOT one of them).

I would love it! Especially when staying at BWV or BCV. We do many non-park vacations. A lot of times we're there during a hard ticket party. Which I love.

I do after 4 all the time anyway. Any ticket is my own little personal after 4 ticket. First of all I rarely get up before ten. And unfortunately, I'm pink. And become "pinker" from 10-2! So lazy and pink means I simply hang out until Mr. love/hate Florida sun is heading down. Parks at night - love them.

I would love it. And to use it with a MYW every now and again. Wish list.

Whoops I should add if I had lots of money I would have an AP all the time. And use them as I want. I had one, one year, and it was heaven.

This isn't this idea vs. AP for many of us. And for my case - We simply, unfortunately right now, can't afford to buy APs every year.

I looked at Undercover tourist prices and even a 1 park 10 day non expiration costs over $400, so using that in place of this type of ticket would add $40 to the price of a meal...not practical, that's for sure.
