Afraid of canned biscuits?

I should have gone to the bathroom before reading this thread - I'm about to lose it! LOL!

My 6 year old LOVES to open the crescent rolls- nobody here is scared of the "POP"

After I got hurt while opening a can I have my DH do, I also found that if the can is out of the for a few minutes it is very volitale.

I too hate having to open the cans of biscuts. :(

That and CLOWNS too! I NEVER buy those canned Biscuits.

Not at all. When younger I use to run into the kitchen and what till my Dad was ready for me to open them.....loved making them pop!:earseek:

OMG!! I too thought I was the only one who was afraid of them. My friends and family (who I allow to know this) think I'm loony! I hated to play games like popping balloons as a kid. And don't get me started on champagne. I think it all started the first time someone played a trick on me by getting me to open a jack-in-the-box (or as I call them PURE EVIL) and not telling me it would POP OUT OF THE BOX. What kind of toy is that anyways? I'm just glad I'm not the only one!!! :p

I kind of enjoy that POP! It's one of the few thrills one can get in a kitchen!

I've never thought about it, but did you see the Mythbusters episode where they tested those things going off in a hot car?

I saw that one. That last can really scared me.

I'm a little iffy about opening up the cans myself...not really scared but just always afraid of that pop. The worst is when you're peeling off that paper and you get all the way to the bottom and it hasn't popped yet. Then there's that knowing that it will pop any minute now.

Curly Q- Jack in the Boxes scare me too! I don't know who invented that toy for little kids??? Even as an adult I know exactly when that stupid clown is going to go POP and it STILL scares me!

I don't like them either. It's because you know it's going to pop, but you just don't know when. So, when it finally does pop, I jump! One time I had to throw out one because it passed the expiration date and a little while later there was an explosion in my garbage can. It took me a while to figure out that the can exploded on it's own!

It scares me to death. My husband has to do it for me and he just laughs at me. Now I can show him this thread and he can see I am not the only one.

 Another person checking in with can-popping-o-phobia!

Those things scare the heck out of me!

I would like to have seen Sara being afraid of them.

When they pop with lots of force I do jump, but I am not afraid of them. Clowns, now that is a whole 'nuther thing.

Too funny.... as this post reminded me of the scene in "Elf" where Buddy has to test the "Jack-In-The-Boxes".... haha!!!

:)

I'm guessing those cork popping toy guns would freak some of you out too?

I'm sorry, I keep finding myself giggling at others expense.

If I ever find myself at home, with an intruder, I suppose a can of biscuits could be one thing which to reach for protection.
 BACK! I've got a popping can and I'm not afraid to use it on YOU!!

Anyone remember the commercials where someone would hit the tube on the counter and the Pillsbury Doughboy would jump out?

We've never really bought them that often, but I can remember my mom buying them once when I was about 5. I insisted on being the one to open it. I can still remember how disappointed I was that the Doughboy didn't jump out. :(

i'm not really afraid of then, since i still buy and open them, but i'll admit to not liking the pop.

I actually like popping them! Maybe I should start hiring myself out as a biscuit popper for those with phobias!:p

DW (aka DD2Disney) is also afraid of them. She makes me do it and she can't be in the kitchen when I do. She used to make me go outside and do it, but she's gotten better.

Now, however, I no longer think she is crazy because she's obviously not the only one with this issue :teeth:
