Does anyone have Aflac insurance? How is it? What can you tell me good or bad. Thanks Lisa

I just use the prepaid medical and daycare. I've had some co-workers who have complained of problems receiving payouts from them. I did use short-term disability insurance - carried it when I knew I was planning another baby :) and had no problems with receiving payment.

I personally don't but my old boss does as a supplement to his medical and dental. He couldn't stop talking about how great it was when it came up one day. He has had it a few years now and he was really impresssed by them. He said the dental didn't have a cap on it, it paid 50% to 80% and for the small monthly payment it paid for itself for a year just on his son's braces.

I have the cancer portion for my whole family. I go for my annuals and turn in the bill and they pay me $75.00 to do it. I have the disability insurance too - haven't had to use it thank god. I also have the FSA - just started that. My husband has used my card (credit card with preset limit for the year) for tylenol and my nexium prescription and had not a problem even though it is in my name. I am waiting for a new bill to be released for a dr's. visit as they over charged me on my co-pay and then I will turn it in. My boss swears by AFLAC and so far it has been good. I have made $150 off the Cancer policy and will get another $75 when I turn in my Mamogram report to them as preventative care. I have heard good stories about the cancer policy. Thank God I haven't had to use it!!!

Dont even get me started! I have accident for the family and short term disability for myself. As with my last pregnancy, I am having serious issues with preterm labor. Last one was at 27 weeks and this pregnancy started at 22 weeks. I am on full bed rest and out of work because of it. Both times, even after several months of appeals, I continue to be denied since they do not feel preterm labor is a medical issue. :scared1: My son who is due this August, while not out of hot water yet, is only alive due to being highly, medicated and on bed rest to stop contractions. Which does not always work. It wasent untill my blood pressure became out of control (preeclampcia) did they fianlly agree to pay me last time. This time I do not have issue with blood press. but Im only 31 weeks so who knows.

As far as signing up for it and paying that was a hassle too. I can never get ahold of my rep. and most times I need to call the corp. office to get any help. With that said, when it works and all goes well then it is a benefit. Other then that there are too many head aches to deal with and I will cancel as soon as I am done have babies.

We have the accidental part and a month after DH signed up for it myself and our 2 daughters were injured in an accident. I called the local rep and he handled everything and within a few weeks of me getting all of the bills to them I had a check in my hand. They are great!!!

I had the accidental at my old job (we could have accidental, dental, disability or cancer I believe). I never had an accident claim but I did get reimbursed $75 every year for the annual routine visit (I think it can be a pap/eye exam/physical, etc.). I always just faxed my papers over to the rep and was paid shortly.

my son in law sells it :thumbsup2

we have the accident & cancer ( really want disability, but my husbands stupid work won't agree for employees to purchase it)

my husband was driving our car & someone smooshed it. aflac paid us $130 for 1st doc visit & $30. for each chiropractic visit he went to . $$ in our pocket.

you have to have most policies 30 days before they will pay you claims & dental can be up to a year before they pay on some things, ( seems like a LOT of people would like to use their dental benefits right away for big expense items)

reps SHOULD be available for you to contact. some poor reps let some clients files lapse, & can be transferred to better reps.

you can access your account online even to make claims & such.

We love love love our accident policy. Can't tell you how nice it is to get those checks in the mail!

My husband does construction and has bad bones...he's very much in shape but the bones just won't stay in place, any little jar or jiggle and he's got to go to the chiro. Well chiro visits in our area cost $26, and we turn it in to AFLAC and get a check in the mail for $120. Definitely covers our premium for the year!

Our son broke his arm last year at school, received a check for almost $500.

Our daughter slammed her finger in the car door, received payment for original visit as well as follow-up to drain the fingernail.

Hubby just broke an onlay on his molar this past weekend, will be sending that in to AFLAC today!

I have found it's MUCH easier for me to fill out the forms, turn in to AFLAC myself and SKIP my agent, I can't really stand him to begin with and I just don't trust that he will get anything done for me. If I want something done right, I do it myself, so I get it done right! :lmao: (yes, just a bit anal about those kind of things) I can send the chiro bill along with my form as long as it has diagnosis codes on it, and skip having the dr fill out the accident part. Other times, like the dentist, they have to give me a statement on letterhead as to what happened...or fill out the forms. Sometimes you can use the hospital medical records (the transcribed ones) to fax along with the form. If there's ever a question as to what happened, I call AFLAC directly, their agents are friendly and helpful. I've found lots of Dr's charge you to fill out paperwork but will provide a statement as to what happened for free.

I know my friend had short term disability, had 2 pregnancies and no problems collecting the check for that. Another gal had a hysto and no problems there.

Also, they do provide a $60 benefit I believe for wellness per year, I use mine every year for my pap, just because it's usually the same time every year. But can also qualify for eye dr visits, dental visits, etc. Anything "wellness", physicals, etc.
