AFI top 100 Film Songs List

There were some on the list that I didn't quite agree with. :rolleyes1 There were some on the original list of 400 that I thought should've made the top 100, but that didn't really surprise me. I did think that it was a neat show to watch.

<font color=navy>I caught the last part of the show - 40 something songs - really enjoyed it. That's why I'm yawning at work right now.

I'd love to see the whole thing again, & hope they have a repeat.

I thought it was interesting that the vast majority of the songs were more than 20 years old. That really tells you something about the state of music today. They just don't make 'em like they used to!!

While I absolutely love Broadway songs, I would have liked to see the top 100 list when the songs didn't originally come from a Broadway musical. Who knows what would have ended up on the list!

I saw it last night as well and loved it! I did think they should have credited Marni Nixon too since three of her songs were on the list.

I watched the whole thing and loved it! Marni should have gotten credit though.

I am going to be watching some of these great films soon too. I haven't seen "Singin' in the Rain" in years, and I always loved "Funny Girl". I enjoy "Don't Rain on My Parade", but my favorite is "I'm the Greatest Star". Don't tell anyone, but once in a great while, if it's just me and no one else is around...I can belt this one out. I dream I AM Barbra Streisand!

Shhh...don't tell anybody! ;)

It was a great show, though there were a few strange choices. I won't get into what shouldn't have been there.

I don't get how "Trouble" from The Music Man didn't make it...

And now that I think about it a bit more, what about "Oh, what a Beautiful Mornin'" from Oklahoma!?

I'll stop before I think of more...

Found it!!!

Are you sure you are thinking about This thread ?
There were a couple about it and the only thing this thread was edited for was to add better pictures.

Either way the list was definitely there when you posted because some effort was made to find the orginal 400 Title Nominee list as it was assumed thast was what you meant.

64. "My Favorite Things"
