I want to buy one for my husband and went through the book store for his school and it would be $180. Is that an average price?

I took my step-daughter's to Michaels and had a custom frame made for it. I think I used one of their coupons and it was led that that, although I don't remember the exact price.

Mine is in a frame from the dollar store. Or maybe its a much more expensive ($8) frame from Target.

I had some good pictures framed last year at Michaels - big ones in really nice frames, and it was less than than per picture - at a place like Michaels it will depend on the frame and the size - and make sure you have a coupon - you should get at least 40% framing at a place like that or you need to wait.

If it's a bachelor/masters sized diploma, you can get an inexpensive "document frame" for it from Michael's. I believe mine was about $10 a few years ago without sales or coupons, and it's still solid and sophisticated looking. Sure, the college's frames may look nice and flashy, but they are SO expensive and don't give you anything you wouldn't get from a <$20 frame (and this is from someone who worked at a university bookstore and sold those darn frames for three years).

It depends on what the size is, I think. My BS degree is huge - like 20x30 or something (really!). I've never framed it. My Ph.D. degree is on a regular-sized piece of paper, and I was able to buy a nice frame w/mat at AC Moore for <$20.

Do you have a Bed Bath & Beyond near you? We got a nice matted frame when ds got his black belt & certificate in Tae Kwan Do.
Once you get on their mailing list they bombard you with 20% off coupons which they will accept even if expired. Not just my store but coworkers in Philly agree.

If you don't want the schools insignia, you can take it to Hobby Lobby and they can usually match up the schools colors and get a nice frame for it.
