My FIL to be cheated on DFiance's mom with the woman he's been married to for 13 years now. I think they're as happy as either of them can be. He's kinda annoying and she's pretty terrible. DFiance's mother has never even dated anyone since, doesn't trust relationships- but she seems pretty happy.

My DFather cheated on my mother with the same woman for years, going as far as moving in with her without DMom knowing (hard to explain).. I really liked the other woman, in spite of that.. She honestly didn't know he was still with my mother when they got together. And, even though she loved him enough to deal with it when she found out, she never trusted him after that and they ended up apart. For awhile, I talked to her more than my DFather after they broke it off. Heh. I like my DFather's taste in women (most of the time) more than I like him, usually.

Well, it definately happened to me. In my defense, I married my first husband when I was only 19. I truly thought at the time that he was the man I could spend the rest of my life with. O how naive I was. Our marriage wasn't horrible, he wasn't abusive, or anything like that I just grew up and realized that I didn't want to be with him and that we didn't have anything in common. He wanted to move to Miami, I wanted to stay in Jacksonville where I grew up. I wanted to buy land and have horses, he hated the idea because he was a city boy. I wanted kids (not right then but at some point in the future) , he said I couldn't force him to be a father. There were a few other sticking points, but that's basically the gist of it. He was in the Navy and gone quite a bit, which is always hard (not that that's an excuse). One time while he was gone on a 6 month deployment I was hanging out with a bunch of friends from work, and met a man with the most gorgeous smile. I mean literally I would just sit there and stare at him waiting for someone to say something to make him smile. We always hung out with the same group of friends, and because of that we became friends. He was an amazing friend (just a friend) and we could talk about ANYTHING. After my first husband got home I realized that although this man and I had not crossed any lines physically that I had fallen in love with him. I left my husband, bought a house with the new guy, gotten pregnant, and was planning my next wedding before my divorce from the first guy was even finalized. We have been married for 5 years, and have had 3 beautiful little boys. We are truly beyond happy. We had to deal with one of the most stressful things in a marriage, the death of a child, and it did nothing but bring us closer together. I couldn't imagine what life would have been like had I not found this man, I truly believe he is my soul mate.

Now that being said. I don't think this is something that happens often, but yes it can happen.
