I just booked our flight to WDW. In order to get a great price on a flight, we are actually going to be in Orlando two days earlier then expected.

Looking on some suggestions on hotels. We won't have a car, so I plan on "just taking it easy" for the two days. Need resturants to be in walking distance. Would like a good pool (DS will be with us..he is 9). Clean hotel, but not a butt load of cash.

We have never been off site, so I am really looking to the board to help me find somethings. Thanks all!!!

I might in your situation go with airport hotel.

then you don't have to rent a taxi or car to take you to WDW.

most of the ones priceline has have a shuttle.

if you don't want to use priceline then

you are looking for a airport hotel with a shuttle that takes you back and forth to the airport - so you can take DME.

So if I stay at an airport hotel that has a shuttle to the airport, we can stay at the hotel thursday and friday, I can use the shuttle to get back to the airport on saturday morning and hop on DME to take it to WDW???

Look into one of the seven hotels at Downtown Disney. I am not sure how much you want to spend, however these hotels are actually on Disney property and a short walk to Downtown Disney. These hotels even have their own bus system that is very convenient, comfortable and complimentary.

For lots to do in walking distance, I'd check out the Sheraton Safari. It's very close to DTD ( we could see the Epcot fireworks from our room), the pool is a lot of fun, there's a Pizza Hut right next door and lots of other restaurants within walking distance.

I've also stayed at the Wyndham Palace Resort and enjoyed it, it's right across the street from DTD so there's a lot to see and do there as well.

We're considering staying at the Wyndham. Can you please tell me what DTD stands for? Also, is the Wyndham closer to the Convention Ctr. on I-Drive or further up on I-Drive? Thanks.

Sorry, I just realized it read "Wyndham Palace" - I was inquiring about the Wyndham Orlando Resort on I-Drive. I'm guessing they are different hotels. But, I'll take any advice on either.

DTD= DownTown Disney. If you were in one of these hotels you'd be able to take the shuttles to the parks or DTD (even walk to this area) for things to do. Flip side though-- unless you really hunt for a great rate- these hotels won't save you too much over the Disney All Stars hotels. Which in that case w/o a car you may as well just stay and All Star if you're going to pay that much.

is the website.

the DME does not apply to these hotels....

so I would still go with an airport hotel - or one of WDW value resorts...

now if you are renting a car - then everthing is opened up!!!
