I'm applying for the ambulance service & have got as far as my fitness assessment (if you could call it that!). I took it & passed all but one part. On the back strength the target is 100KG, I pulled 97.5KG before I started to lose my grip so I stopped. I have to do the assessment again.

However my friend who is a personal trainer & I were talking yesterday & we looked up about the piece of equipment used to measure the back strength, apparently it has an accuracy of +/- 6KG. Therefore in theory I have passed my original assessment. I'm unsure whether or not to contact them and ask about if they include a leway due to the accuracy and to speak to them about it.

What do you guys think? I wouldn't mind but I keep having to go to Surrey to do this when I live in Kent, so it is a 70 mile round trip each time.

I don't think I would say anything as they might already take that into account. Also as its +/- you could also have only pulled 91.5KG and therefore not passed.
