We have never done the food and wine festival we were hoping for some advice. Being a seasonal thing we would like to indulge in it and was wondering opinions on how best to use 1 Table Service, 1 Counter Service and 4 snacks there (dining plan). From the information I was able to get it seems that most of what is available there are snack credits, but are there any special things going on where we could use our Table service and counter service? Also, since they will be including specialty drinks next year does anyone have any suggests as to what to get with that?

Thanks =)

Basically the only part of your dining plan that you can use is the snack credits at Food & Wine. Anything that shows the snack symbol you can use the credits for. So that 7 buck Lamb Chop in the Australia Booth is a great use of a snack credit. They do special meals for F&W at the various restaurants but are more upscale dining events where you have to book ahead and are pretty expensive. Can't use dining plan credits for them.

The alcoholic drinks for the dining plan in 2018 can be only used with a meal. You can't just use the plan for a Margarita in Mexico

The Table Service credit wouldn't matter except for maybe toward a meal that includes a reserved section ticket for Eat to the Beat concerts.

Per what I have read, some kiosks at the Festival will allow you to convert one QS credit into 3 snack credits, but you would to have to use all 3 there and then. When I went to the 2011 Festival with the QS plan, that was not an option.

The biggest value IMO is in the snack credits. You can use them toward almost any food item from the kiosks, including the filet mignon from Canada and the lobster roll in America. :)

When we went in 2011, we were 4 Disney adults staying at CSR 4 nights, 2 snack credits per night, so 32 snack credits to use at the Festival. You and your family can feast with that.

You need to pay OOP for your less expensive food and drink, but I think it's one of the few times of the year where you really can save money with the Disney QS Dining Plan.

I think the general rule is to use the snack credits for the items that are over $4/5, otherwise pay out of pocket. They do have a few more expensive options (like the $7 lamp chop that a PP mentioned), so be on the lookout.
