Advice on the Atlantis Beach Day/ Discover Atlantis Excursion

We are planning our 1st cruise for next August. We are on the Dream for a four-night cruise. In looking at the Nassau excursions our son, who is autistic, has a great interest in seeing Atlantis...especially the ruins. Can anyone give me an overview of this excursion and whether the full- or half-day would be better. I'm not as concerned about a long beach stay, but definitely want time for him to be able to see the marine life and ruins. TIA!!

our son is 13 and also autistic. We did the deep water dolphin swim this September and He loved it. It didn't however give us a lot of time to do the water park and see the ruins only got to do a few slides so i would say you probably want to do the full day.

We did the beach break and Discover Atlantis excursion a year or so ago and it was very nice. We didn't have the water slide package though. Just the beach, lunch and Atlantis DIG exploration and marine life.
There was plenty of time to explore and if I remember correctly, when we arrived they walked us thru the aquarium part first towards the beach. Then we spent some time on the beach and walked up to the grounds where they have a few quick service locations for lunch. We took our time going back thru the DIG and checked out the aquarium again. I think we headed back to the ship earlier than most people though. The transportation runs back and forth all day long so you can leave whenever you want to.
It was on the expensive side, but for our family it was worth it. I have a 13 year old son and a 15 year old daughter so I am always looking for things that are interesting and fun at the same time.
