We will be arriving in Orlando around 9am on Sun March 6 with a car rental (family of 4 with 3 year old and 6 year old). We will be there for 7 days but hoping to take advantage of every day as we haven't been travelling in the 2 year since the pandemic. We plan to stop at the hotel first (Doubletree Disney Springs) and then hope to head to a park shortly thereafter. Hoping to get some help on 2 pieces of advice:

1) Do you think it is a good idea to go to a park on Sunday (arrival day)? We should have most of the afternoon and evening so I would think it would still be worth it but the early afternoons is the peak period of busy.

2) Which park would be best to go to? And would using Genie+/ILL be worthwhile?

Thanks for any advice!

1) If you're getting a car rental, does this mean you are flying into Orlando early Sunday morning? If so, this would greatly play into planning for us. If you've been up since 3 or 4AM to catch your flight, how much time will you want to be spending in a park that day? With a 3 and 6yo, not sure how much you'll want to push things the first day. Possibly go to MK and do what you can do then call it a day when everyone is pooched and rest up for the next day?

If you've already been in the FL area and are just driving to Orlando on Sun, Mar 6, that would make a difference.

2) Our first park is always MK. It's the park for us that reads, 'We're here!!!' Also a great park for 3 and 6 yo kiddos!

Depending on your answer to question 1, would make the difference re: Genie+. If you've been up since the wee hours I would not get G+ and save it for a day when you're there longer. If you haven't been up too early then I find G+ valuable at MK and DHS. We did not purchase it (nor miss it) for AK or Epcot.

Agree with everything scrapping said.
Also, if you go to MK on arrival day, maybe just try and hit up the rides with short lines and the shows. There should be plenty to do til you’re all too tired. The rides with typically shorter lines are ones that kids your age would like. Also, Tom Sawyer Island the Pirates Adventure would be fun.

We’ll be driving in to WDW in early April and plan to go to MK on a Monday with a closing time of 11 pm. We should be able to make it to the park around 5 pm. Should/could we get Genie + and load up our evening ride times? Any recommendations on strategy is appreciated.
