Hi we will be stayiny on the west en of the 192 so we will use Sherberth to get to the Disney parks but we were wondering if anybody had any good routes to universal , i drive Etc.
Also exactly where are the roadworks on the 192???? :confused3
Are they going to still be there in August???
Now the weather is warming up we have got our Holiday head on :sunny:

The roadworks are at present east of the I-4/192 junction. They are at their worst at the Eastern end of the 192 (near Medieval Times). Traffic was tailing back to Formosa Gardens and beyond at Xmas. If you use Sherberth you can avoid this. These roadworks are scheduled to last at least 2 years.

To get to I-Drive / Universal, use Sherberth as usual, and then follow the Osceola Parkway (the road you turn onto out of Sherberth). When you drive out of WDW (under the big sign) you can see how bad the traffic is on the I-4. If its moving, simply join it and go up to I-Drive on this.

If not, stay on the OP, when you go under the I-4, there is a traffic light opposite the big Gaylord Palms Hotel. This is I-Drive South. Turn left and follow. It ends at a junction with the 535...turn left again, proceed to the next light, turn right, past the Caribe Royal resort, then you will see a left turn taking you back onto I-Drive again. You can follow this up to Sea World / Premium Outlets etc. Take Universal Boulevard (right turn off of I-Drive, well sign posted) and that will take you all the way up to Kirkman Rd, avoiding the I-Drive traffic.

Regarding the roadworks..I am staying on the 192 near 'old town' in April. What sort of hold ups should I expect if traveling to Disney along the 192 up to I4 ? If they are bad, whats the best way around them ? Thanks

Hi Bozzly,

When we were there in December I think they were beyond Old Town - so you should be fine to go to WDW from your hotel. It'll be if you are going from your hotel towards WalMart you'll come across them.

Now bear in mind this was in December so whether they've moved or not (I expect so) I can't say.

Sorry!
