We have never been to either of the waterparks. We will drive to the waterparks, but use WDW bus to the main parks. Any advice on doing a WP and a main park on the same day. How did it work out, would you recommend this or is it too much?

Has anyone ever done a midday break from the main parks and head to the WPs for just a few hours, if so, how did it go? I know the slides will be busy, was thinking about just doing the lazy river and wave pool on those days.

I don't want to add WP until we get there (to make sure the weather will be nice) is that possible to do at our resort when we check in)?

In no way am i an expert but i will give you my opinion :wave2:
We usually use our WP day with our downtown disney day.... The parks get really crowded in the afternoon especially on the weekend, in the morning on a weekday we had very manageable lines. We always want to go back to the resort after the WP to clean up a bit and that always takes longer than i want! I would suggest a park with evening EMH to maximize park time.
Yes you can absolutely add the WP&M to your ticket after you arrive.
We love the waterparks, they feel more relaxed for us.... No reserving involved :thumbsup2

It depends on what you want to do there and how much time you want to spend there. We often go to a WP for a few hours after lunch. Most of the year they are extremely busy at this time and you won't want to wait for all of the major attractions, but you can still do most of them.

Hello. We are going over Easter and it looks like in the past the water parks are open a little later during that time. Anyone have experience with going around 400 for the last few hours...do they slow down around that time?

Most people that go to a waterpark in the morning won't stay until closing. The parks are for the most part doable after 3pm or so but you need to do them backwards. Start with the wave pool, lazy river and other activities with no lines. Hit the popular slides the last 2 hours or so before closing when the lines should be manageable.

If you want very short or no waits though, you need to get there at rope drop. :thumbsup2

We go to WP on scorching hot days, which is often in Aug. We rarely go early, but we will go and bring a change of clothes sp we can hit a main park after. We always have a rental car so that helps. Weve also gone to WP when its rainy or has just stopped raining. No one there, we ride everthing a bunch. If its crowded we are happy to twirl the lazy river or hang in wave pool. Find a good spot, hopefully with chairs and enjoy! One of our trips we did TL and/or BB everyday almost plus we close a main park. I think we have only done rope drop twice, both at HS. As you can see below, weve done the parks several dozen times!

We just got back from a 10 day WDW trip. During our trip we visited both TL and BB. The TL day we arrived at 2pm because we spent the morning sleeping in since we were at MK the prior night until 1am. The park was crowded, but then it rained for about an hour and when the park opened back up the crowd was much less. We stayed until 5:30 because we had dinner Poland, but fit everything in that we wanted to do.
The day we went to BB we arrived at 4pm. We had done AK in the morning, then headed back to our villa at beach club. We had lunch I. The room and headed to BB. it was still crowded when we first got there. Some of our group waited over an hour for summit plummet. The rest of the slides were about a 20 minute wait. We stayed until 8 pm closing. After 6 pm the crowed was much less. The kids ended up doing summit plummet 2 more times in 10 minutes right before closing. If you have memory maker the photographers leave at 6, so get there prior to then. So e of our best pictures are from BB.

We did a WP/MK day on our last trip. Hit BB early, did the major rides/slide with little lines, then hit the family ride and lazy river and chilled in big wave pool. from open til about 3; by 3 there were open chairs in shade again (went on a tuesday). Went back to resort, cleaned up, ate dinner and relaxed a bit before hitting MK-was open til 1 am that night (had a 7DMT FP+-fun to do at night). We did several rides while fireworks (first showing) was going on-I think only 7DMT and A&E had waits >60 min. We were out of there by 11:30. I had planned for an "off" day the next day to recoup-doing both a park day and WP day together is very tiring - even if you don't do as late as we did:) I would think reversing the order would do well too as the lines were already going down in WP (on the big rides)when we left.

We have one day going to DS that my older boys only want to ride RR, TT and TSMWM, so I'm thinking of getting morning FPs for those and heading to TL. Then we'll change there and head back for Fantasmic (which I will hopefully be able to get FP for before we leave in the morning)
