Would love some advice on if this is the best plan for Epcot! We are going to DW in September staying in the ASM. We have lunch reservations at Akershus one day but not until 1:30 and we want to be at Epcot at opening time and have a good breakfast that day since lunch isn't until late. So my question is...

Would it be a good idea to take the bus to the Beach Club early that morning and eat the counter service there and we can walk to Epcot? Does the back entrance still open at 9 if the WS doesn't open until 11?? Thanks in advance!!

International Gateway will open the same time as the main entrance. You will not be able to stroll World Showcase, though (not sure if you wanted to do this or not, but wanted to make sure it was known) and will have to head straight to Future World. The bakery in France is open so you can stop in there for breakfast, as well, if you decide to not do Beach Club.

No, I would say it is not a good idea. :sad2:

There are no resort to resort buses. You would have to go to a park to catch a bus to BC.

The BC doesn't have a good counter service breakfast. Their counter service is very limited. They don't have Mickey waffles or pancakes, for instance.

The International Gateway opens at 9 am and lets people walk through WS to Future World.

You can get a very good counter service breakfast at the Sunshine Seasons food court in The Land. That is where I would eat my good counter service breakfast. Just take the Epcot bus from ASM and walk over there. :)

You can't take a bus from one resort to another resort. You are limited to taking buses to parks, water parks, and DTD. But you have a couple choices regarding the Epcot area. You could take a bus to Epcot, which drops off at the Epcot front gate. At Epcot front gate is Future World, and you have breakfast choices of Sunshine Seasons in The Land building (excellent CS) and Starbucks usual breakfast offerings. Your other choice would be to take the bus to Hollywood Studios. Immediately walk to the dock and take a boat to the Epcot Resorts area. You could stop at the Dolphin for breakfast at Fresh or Picabu, or stop at Beach Club (your original plan), or stop at the Boardwalk Bakery, or enter Epcot at the International Gateway and have breakfast in France at the Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie Bakery (you are allowed to get food there, even tho World Showcase is closed).

I second Sunshine Seasons in Epcot for a good counter service breakfast. And it saves you a lot of extra travel time.

To get to Beach Club, you would have to take a bus from ASM to a park (NOT Epcot though because there are no buses to/from Epcot and Beach Club). If you go to HS then you either take a boat or walk to Beach Club. If you go to MK or AK you take a bus to Beach Club. In my opinion, the counter service at Beach Club is just not worth traveling to anyway though.

OP- If you want to maximize those first early hours at EPCOT, I suggest you eat breakfast at your resort, then bus to the EPCOT front entrance in time for rope drop. Taking the time to eat breakfast inside EPCOT will take valuable time away from those first couple of hours when the park attractions are relatively uncrowded.

I agree. If you don't want to run down to the food court in the morning, you can pack snacks to get your stomachs happy. Then, eat in your room before going to the bus stop. Pop Tarts are good and can be eaten even if in your suitcase pockets. Or, for a treat, pretzels or peanut butter crackers. There's no law that says on vacation you have to have eggs and toast for breakfast.

Beach and Yacht do not have a food court (even normal deluxes only have tiny ones). BC breakfast selections are very limited and literally in the store with the tshirts. We usually go with cupcakes and yogurt :rotfl: but they do have some real hot breakfast selections.

Exactly what I was going to say. Practical and most efficient time wise. Going to BC via Disney transpo just for CS (which is frankly poor there) just doesn't make sense.

Some things that would work:

Take a cab to BC or YC. You can eat at Captain's Grill or Cape May. The earliest ADR is 7:30. Then walk in through the International Gateway. We have taken cabs from resort to resort. It's very inexpensive, but you will need to arrange for it ahead of time.

Another option: If you're rope dropping, do the normal resort to Epcot bus thing, then head straight to Soarin or Test Track (whichever one you don't have a FP for). After riding that, have breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. It's not earth shattering cuisine, but it's better than CS at BC/YC. It's also quick, so you can then resume touring.

Cabs can be called and sometimes are standing by.

While we never departed before about 8am, while staying at Pop in May, there seemed to always be a cab waiting that we could flag and take to our destination. If not, bell services can call one quite easily. It doesn't need to be "pre-arranged" unless you wanted one guarantees waiting for you. I was still recovering from a broken ankle--so I do know that they can only drop you off by the lobby and pick you up there. So you will always have to catch one up front regardless of where you are staying at your resort.

And am I the only one that suggests cabbing to Beach club, enter at IG and have petit dejeuner (breakfast) at the French bakery? Chocolate croissant..:worship:.
