Hi,
I hope this is the right spot for this question...
Trying to figure out how long it takes to get from MK to our ADR at Akershus. We are planning to go to early EMH at Magic Kingdom (EMH begins at 8:00am and we plan to be there at 7:30 to be at end of Main Street for rope drop). We have an ADR at Akershus at 9:30am. We plan to spend 45 minutes at MK in Fantasyland doing Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Winnie the Pooh before heading over to Epcot. What is the best way to get to Akershus from MK (Monorail to TTC then Monorail to Epcot? Bus to Beach Club and Walk through Int Gateway to Akershus?) How long does it take? Is doing EMH at MK even an option given the transportation needed? We don't have a car.

Thanks!

Hmmmm, not going to be fast. You have to leave MK and head to the TTC....the monorail should take about 8 mins..not including the walk time to get there...so figure 15-20 mins total. Then, once at TTC, you have to transfer to the Epcot line (wait could be 0 or could be 10-15 mins), then the ride to Epcot, about 15 mins, off the monorail and through the turnstiles...another 5- mins. The walk to Akershus is going to be close to 15-20 mins depending on pace. So, a total of at least 45-50 mins...best case scenario.
The problem with taking a bus to one of the Epcot resorts is that they aren't all that reliable this early in the day. They are pretty much busy getting resort guests to each park, from that resort. So, that may not be a good option.

Why not be at rope drop at Epcot? You could probably walk-on to Soarin, TT, or MS once or twice in that first half hour.

If rope drop is at 9:00 a.m., OP is going to pretty much have to head straight to Askershus to make a 9:30 a.m. ADR. Stopping for a FP at TT on the way is an option, but there's no way they could stand by for even one of those rides and make it to Norway in time for breakfast.

You could walk over to the CR from MK (takes about 8 mins), get a cab there, then take it to BC. Then, you can walk through the International Gateway to Akershus. That would save a bunch of time I would think.

I just don't think that plan makes much sense. No time to do really anything in MK before you have to start transporting to get to Epcot. I would skip the MK EMH and just go to Epcot.

Norway isn't really any closer to the IG than it is to the main gate, so I don't know that cabbing to BC vs. the main gate at Epcot offers any real time savings.

But you don't have to factor in the possible wait times for the two different monorails. That's where my logic was.
