Advice on eating on arrival nigth

Hi, we are staying at Hotel New York and will (traffic and airline permitting) arrive there around 6 pm on a Sunday evening. We have two children (3 and 7) and am looking for some advice on where to eat on our first night that is close by and convenient. We have pre-paid for half-board plus vouchers if that helps at all?????

Well the closest is obviously the hotel itself but if you are on half board standard that isn't included (if you are on half board plus it is). Within 5 minutes walk you also have the Disney Village where your vouchers can be used in Annettes Diner (also Steak House and Billy Bobs on half board plus).

You can use your vouchers to upgrade to the half board plus restaurants by exchanging them for their face value and then just paying the difference.

I like to have a character dinner on arrival night. That way the magic starts soon. You could go to Cafe Mickey (close to NY at Disney Village) or Inventions (at Disneyland Hotel).

I would suggest Cafe Mickey, but not sure whether they accept the vouchers (plus or regular ones)

Sometimes its better to leave a character meal until later in the holiday. Depending what time you need to leave home you may find your children (and yourselves) are very tired from travelling.
Also it may be an idea to let them get used to the characters from a distance rather than so close. It can also be very noisy and chaotic in Cafe Mickeys which can be quite off putting.

It depends how tired you will be, but we never bother with a blow out meal on arrival night, as we are usually so tired we just want to keel over straight after eating! Good thing is you are not a long way from Disney Village restaurants, but I would be tempted to try out the Manhattan Restaurant in HNY - and if you can manage it, have a drink in the bar afterwards too!
