My daughter will be 14 months old on our next planned trip. Well we've been discussing postponing our trip till shes 26 months old. I dont really want to though, what are some things to expect taking a 14 month old. Our son was 4 on his first trip so I dont have any experience on taking a toddler. What are some things that she would enjoy? Its been so long since our son was that small that I cant remember. Would she enjoy the swimming pools? etc...

we took our dd last year when she was 14 months old. She had a great trip. She did do some swimming - at POFQ there was a nice shallow kids pool she could splash in (she was just walking which helped)
She liked loads of rides, there are tons of rides in every park which can be enjoyed by toddlers, off the top of my head

Magic Kingdom
---------------
its a small world
pooh bear
peter pan
philharmagic
pirates
the parade - she loved the parades

Epcot
-------
those water fountains were a big hit
spaceship earth
the land
imagination (there is a dark loud bit)
all the shows around the countries

MGM
-----
Playhouse Disney!
Parade

Animal Kingdom
--------------
the safari
walking around the animal trails

there are others in all of the parks but these are the ones that leap to mind

Our daughter has been to WDW 5 times so far. She is 2 and a half. We have taken her at 6 months, 11 months, 16 months, 23 months and 28 months.

Every trip has been wonderful with her enjoying many of the attractions. She has loved character interaction each time too. We have used the pools and water parks each time. She has always slept in the stroller (except this last trip as she no longer naps at home either) and all the heat and excitement meant she slept very well at night. Some evenings she would doze of in the stroller during dinner or shopping and let us transfer her to her pack and play without strirring much.

We feel that WDW is one of the most child friendly destinations there is. We travel from England so the flight is long, but definitely worth it. We all have a great time.

I say go for it!

We have taken our DD at 5 months and 16 months and both trips were wonderful. She had such a great time... and I think she may remember somethings, like IASW, becuase it is now her favorite song... she sings and dances. You will have so much fun as well.. just watching your DC face light up and when they get excited. I would go and try it... I think you all will have a wonderful trip.

Also... our DD pretty much went on everything without a height restriction. She loved the area outside of Figment, Pooh's PLayful Spot, ISAW, Fireworks, Parades, Water of any kind and just running around and seeing all the other kids having a great time. These will be memories that my DH and I have forvever. :earboy2:

Last time we went one DS was 15 months. What he enjoyed was...

MK: Peter Pan, Dumbo, the MK RR, Donald' Boat, Playground in ToonTown, Playground by Splash Mountain, The Carasoul (so short though, I don't recommend it unless you can just walk on again and again), Aladin's Magic Carpets, Pooh.

Epcot: the water fountains, watching street shows, Journey into the Imagination

AK: Festival of The Lion King, It's Tough to Be a Bug, Kilamajaro Safari, Bone Yard, TRiceratop Spin

MGM: Playhouse Disney!

He also really enjoyed parades everywhere and the fireworks. And monorail and boat rides.

THings he did not like were characters in the first half of the week unless at a distance. He did warm up to them though, except the face characters--never did like the ones that spoke to him. :rotfl:

There were many other things he was just luke warm to.

I want to add that this is a VERY high maintance child, and at WDW, he was pretty easy. Our older DS was never any harder at WDW than at home either. I don't think you'll have a problem at all taking a toddler to WDW. Just be sure to bring some favorite snacks/foods, plenty of diapers (2X what you think you'll need just in case) and an extra change of clothes.

Took DD at 4 mos, 10 mos and 14 mos. ALL were great trips. With a 4 year old I can't imagine she would slow you down at all !

OH!! Don't forget you can baby swap for bigger rides. That is what we did when DS#2 was 7 months--not a hassel at all and DS#1 got to ride twice in a row. This last trip I was pregnant though and pretty much couldn't do what DS#2 couldn't do.

We went in October with my DS 15 months. He loved Magic Kingdom. Hits for him were Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World, Magic Carpets, Teacups, Dumbo and Buzz Lightyear.

He does not like fireworks, so we avoided the night shows.

Also, he loved loved loved Pooh's Playground/Sprayground. We were there for a few hours! It's made for the little ones.

It's in Fantasyland, straight across from the Winnie the Pooh ride.

If the sprayground is on, bring a change of clothes. ;) The sprayground is on the one side, and the Pooh tree, slide and honey pots are on the other, but it's all self-contained and wonderful for parents and the little ones to burn off that extra excitement and energy.
