advice needed pls..

we have an asd son of 8, we will get a gac, use pushchair is wheelchair, option so that he will have his own space not because he has mobility problems, joshs problems are mental not physical but my question is..
are the strollers that you can buy big enough for a 8yr old?
we wanted to get a buggy board for dd5 so josh can have the stroller, where can i buy one of these locally?
is it better to hire a bigger stroller off site? if so where? or buy (we are there for 14 days, so hiring a double pushcahir will be $$$.
any possible solutions to this would be great, as i am going round in circles

I have seen full on teenagers fold themselves int othe double strollers, a double should be fine with an 8 year old. It all depends on the size of your son though (these are Disney strollers I'm talking about). The other thing is you could just rent him a wheelchair, it will be cheaper and that might be the better option for him (however it won't have a canopy).

You might want to see about purchasing a used double in UK and then bring it along with you. You can check on your airline's policies; does it count against you luggage limits, etc.

If you do buy one, then you can make a decision to either bring it back home with you or abandon it at the end of yiur holiday.

We'll be renting a Maclaren Major offsite. They go up to 140 pounds weight, so it should be big enough for your son. We're going to be there for a week and it's around $50 for the whole week.

Might you be able to get something through the NHS? Or another organisation? I know that the Red Cross rents wheelchairs for short periods (up to a few months), so they might be able to sort you out with a kids' chair for the trip. As for the buggy boards, I suggest getting your hands on the chair / pushchair first, then going into Mothercare and seeing if anything will fit.
