Ok my daughter and I are going to Universal for 4 nights starting on April 6th. MY 11th grade son is going to be there for a steel drum competition/school trip. They head back to MD after the awards which are an hour and start at 9 p.m on our last night. Our original plan was to stay that night at Royal Pacific and head to Disney the next day for 3 nights. Then we started thinking maybe we should just leave US after the awards and add that night at POP where we are staying for our quick Disney trip, so we would be there for park opening Sunday morning. How far is it from Universal to Disney? Would you just stay at US resort and head over early the next morning, check in at Disney then head to park? Of course it is cheaper to switch that last night and stay at Disney. I just don't know how late we would actually get to POP with Sat. night traffic. Any suggestions?? Would you switch??

I would go to pop for the savings and to get an earlier start the next day. It's not far to US. if I remember correctly it took us maybe 20-30 minutes to drive there depending on traffic.

The highway miles are short, but getting out of Uni then into WDW can take awhile. But overall, unless you run into a nasty traffic snarl (I did, last visit; turned out to be a multi-car incident with several police cars and one guy handcuffed on the grass, the whole thing), it's not long.

If you end up like us, you'll be sad to leave Uni. Our very first trip we gave it a really solid stay, thinking we were one&done, and then nearly missed our Sanaa reservation because none of us wanted to go back to WDW at all.

Well we have NO choice but to stay at Universal Studio resort that Sat. night or lose the night we paid for. We can't cancel because the resort is sold out and they can't cancel and rebook for just 3 nights and leave that one night open. SO.....that decision was made for us today. We will just have to get up uber early Sunday morning and head straight to POP to drop off luggage and catch bus to AK.
