Advice needed on sharing a cruise

We are going in April and our party of 4 would love to share a cruise (Wishes or Illuminations). Is it best to make the request after 1/1 (90 day) when guests have a chance to book the actual cruises?

When in April? My sister is bringing my great nephew who will be 6 (her GS) for his first trip to WDW (anywhere actually). They unfortunately are coming the week between Palm Sunday and Easter April 8th - April 16th. I was just on a Wishes cruise last week that I found through the Disboard, and we loved it. I would love to take them on a cruise as well, but was nervous to book and not be able to find folks to fill up the seats!!! There would be four of us total - two adults and two kids.
