Okay I am needing some quick advice here! As of now we are booked at the POR in January for 7 nights w/ ddp and base tickets. It is coming out w/ my AAA to $2900 and some change. I was playing around tonight on the new pkg special and found a great deal for us. If we go Dec 10-15 include ddp and 6 day base tickets, plus our airfare ($600 for all of us) I can go for $2500 and some change.

*We would be losing 2 days. :sad1:
*We can fly nonstop (2 hours vs 18 hour drive) and save hotel and food :)
*It might be busier :sad1:
*We can go to the Christmas Party :)
*Can I even get dining ressies this late? :sad1:

Well, I am not sure what kind of advice you are after, but here goes...
Several years we have gone before Christmas and it just seemed so much more special "building up" toward Christmas. (The excitement factor) In 2006 we went in early January while a lot of decorations were still up and it was rather anti-climatic. The biggest problem for us (and our friends who were also there in early January) was illness. We were there for 15 days from Dec. 30-Jan. 14 and someone in our family was sick in bed for at least half the days. The same for our friends who were there (but we did not see). Everywhere we went folks were down with horrible winter flu bugs. I saw people dosing their kids with meds non-stop while in line to hug characters, etc. I think people get sick while visiting with relatives during Christmas and then when the come to WDW the week after Christmas they bring it with them. Look, we have been 20+ times to WDW, and I realize illness can go around anytime. I just have never seen illness like early January.

LOL I guess I want someone to tell me December will not be too busy and worth it to go! Thanks for your info...I think it would be very special to be there in December.

We always go in December and have a great time with the decorations, events and slightly lower crowd level. This is our favorite time of the year to go, so i'd say go for less money and at the most beautiful time of the year.

See ya there!:thumbsup2

We've been at WDW both Dec and Jan.
Because both time we choose value season, (1st week of Dec and last week of Jan) Crowd level was probably the lowest.I think December was crowded more than January. However, you have MVMCP and decoration all over the place. So, if you want to feel special atmosphere of holiday season, December is the choice. But if youwant to have a vacation with least crowd, January is better(I think)

Since we love December and are going to be there the first week... I vote for December over January!

Having been both months there is NO comparison. Early/Mid Dec wins hands down. Have a great time!

We get AP and alternate between Jan & early Dec for our trips. I love early Dec BUT I actually have started to prefer Jan. Crowds have been low and it gives me something to look forward too after Christmas. The holidays are over... everyone is back to work... the weather is cold AND I AM GOING TO DISNEY!!! Yeah!!!! Just another point of view.....

We're going this December for the first time and I hear it doesn't get crazy busy until the week before Christmas. I hear varying weather reports, but 60 or 70 is better than 30! :)

Good luck and you'll have a great time either way.

Good point! Thank you. ;)

We actually decided to go this December 9-15th. We will get to go to MVMCP and Epcot's Candlelight dinner pkg. Now I am getting all excited to see DW all in decorations. :thumbsup2
