Advice Needed - Nov AAA Rate? Good/Bad

I've made my "room only" (preferred location) ressies some time ago with the AAA discount for Nov 15-22 (7 nights for a rate of $148.75 + tax (11%) = 165.00. Is this good or not? I thought it was since the preferred location was $175/night.

We will stick with the "room only" for now unless something better is offered or we choose to do a package later. We had to cancel this vacation last year due hurricane Rita damage to our house.

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Are you staying at the Caribbean? The "rack" rate for a preferred room during your timeframe is $195.14 with tax included. With AAA your rate is $165.00 with tax so you are seeing a savings of $30 a night...I think that is pretty good.

yes, we are staying at the Caribbean. Thanks for the reassurance. This is our first trip to go! I'm just praying for no glitches this year and NO MORE Hurricanes!! We've worked our butts off putting our house back together and deserve every minute of this vacation!!

The way I look at it is ANY discount is better than no discount!

We currently have room-only ressies for our upcoming trip, staying at the Poly GV with a AAA disc. I'd love something better, but at least I am not paying rack rate!
