Currently, we are booked end of April - first week in May at Riverside. This will probably be our last trip until one day when I have grandchildren. We have stayed at POR and CSR before but never CBR. I am thinking of holding off until Labor Day week for two reasons......CBR's food court will be open and I still would like to stay there. I know they will still have construction but at least some of the amenities will be open and second Toy Story Land will be open. The last time we went was in 2010, so we would have Pandora to see too that is new. Any suggestions?

Only you can decide if that is reason. Labor Day week will have bigger crowds and be much hotter.

Based on weather alone, I would keep April/May over Labor Day weekend. We've gone the last week of August for the past 7 years and I thought I wasn't going to make it through the week this past year. It was SO HOT. Even at night when I thought it would feel a little cooler, I didn't. Literally sitting waiting for ROL to start around 9 pm, sun completely down, with sweat pouring over me (sorry, maybe TMI!). I would keep what you have. CBR and Toy Story Land will be there when you go back with the grandkids.

One thing to consider about Labor Day is that it is close the peak of hurricane season. Between that and the heat, April or May wins hands down for weather.

I usually visit both of those times, and the crowds are fairly similar, with the exception of Labor Day weekend itself. From Monday afternoon on, the crowds drop considerably. If you want to wait and have the opportunity to see more new things, especially since you are not a frequent visitor, that is certainly a good option. Of course there is always the chance that you’ll be back sooner than you think. If my parents had said they weren’t going back until they had grandkids, they wouldn’t have ever gone back (neither my sister or myself have children yet, and the parents are both gone now). There are pros and cons to both choices. Take the trip that will make you happy.

Well, I would push a bit to go to Toy Story Land if you’re interested in that. But, I didn’t enjoy staying at CBR. I mean, it was ok, but it’s a huge resort and the buses were slow due to all the stops.

I went this year for Labor Day week...it was crowded over the holiday weekend but come mid Monday, the crowds thinned out and by Tues it was walk on for most rides (except Pandora section was always crowded)....yes it's hot...but with such low crowds....its easy to get more done in the morning...take a break in afternoon and go back to the parks in the afternoon. We also stayed at CBR that week and loved it...since the crowds for Labor Day week are low, there were no problems with buses and its located very close to both Epcot & HS and also close to Disney Springs.

Personally, I would book April/May at POR over Labor Day at CBR every time. We like all the other moderates (especially POR and CSR) but really disliked CBR and would not choose to stay there again.

The week before Labor Day is my favorite! I don't mind the heat so much, as it's hot at home too. To me it definitely cools off in the evenings; once we had to buy hoodies at Target.

It's not crowded, and one day Soarin' was a walk on all day.

My longest trip was 15 nights the last two weeks of August. There were no lines at all.

Yes, it did rain almost every afternoon, but it cooled things off.

April is fine unless it's Easter (never again).

Sorry but only you can decide when you want to go! CBR doesn't thrill me, though; it seems too spread out.

I do believe Easter is late in April for 2018, so that would be something for the OP to keep in mind. I personally would not visit from the Saturday of Palm Sunday weekend through the Sunday after Easter, if I had any choice at all. It's usually busy two weeks before and after, but the week just before and after are VERY busy.

It's April 1st in 2018.

I'm debating pushing my trip back from April to late August too. Not to stay at Caribbean beach, but for Toy Story land and cheaper resort prices. I'm also wondering if I upgrade to APs if I would be Able to see Star Wars land the following August.

I would love to see the new Toy Story land! Like I said previously, that would give us that and Pandora that we haven't seen either.

I would keep the dates you have. We were there this year when Pandora opened. O. M. G. The crowds! Toy Story Land will always be there and you won't have to dodge any potential hurricanes. And POR is wonderful! We loved our stay there.
